We were very excited to try this place after hearing the reviews and given the former Husk background of the chefs. Would compare it to the likes of Peninsula,Noko,Locust,Bad idea in terms of concept but overall would say it hits lower than these places, conceptually and food-wise. Menu in size is comparable to Peninsula: 6-7 smalls and 1 big.
Ambiance: Cool ambiance, good take on Latin American Vibes. Pretty Color palettes and tones reminiscent of latin America, lots of clay tones.
Drinks: Drinks were good, would say overall probably a little bit overpriced? I say that when comparing them to other mentioned places as well as other restaurants in Nashville. I'd say 16/17 a drink is probably pushing it for the ambiance of this place but that said they were well crafted with good presentations, clean palettes. Caipirinhas are a household staple drink of ours, one of our go to hot weather drinks so we were excited to try their take. It was alright, we consider this one of those drinks that should be equally refreshing as it is strong. They definitely had the kick down but lacked a bit on acidity. Also would say at 15/16$ it's over priced for a sugar/lime/cachaca muddled drink. Id like to think of this as a great house staple drink, your classic "house marg style cocktail", takes 30 seconds to make and anyone can do it. Servers seemed to kind of know the wine menu but not really fully in depth, reverted to using basic descriptions so we stuck with cocktails.
Food: Biggest qualm was the menu. Conceptually the menu was cool and had some strong ideas but we feel that the mark was missed. Between the 2 of us we elected to try every dish except for the bread and chicken mole (the larger dish), as we wanted to try more. After going through all of them we were still a tad hungry but strongly dislike repeating dishes in one sitting and had no interest in the bread. The mole would have been to big at this point.
The enchilada came first. This was in their salsa verde with chicken. Would say it was okay overall. It was unfortunately cold but the flavors were good. Next were the tomatoes (tomatoes/queso fresco/garlic tops/chipotle salsa base), this was perhaps our favorite dish. The queso fresco paired better than we thought it would - nice take on a tomato salad variation. Next was the agua Chile, we both very much enjoyed this as well. While the presentation was pretty I would recommend serving this dish with a spoon in the future.
Following the agua Chile we had the steak chimichurri. Enjoyed their take on chimichurri (cilantro & green onion based). My qualm with this dish was I wish there was something to have made it more interesting. Perhaps some kinda of pickled/grilled veg on the side, something to make each bite slightly different more interesting.
The last dish was the halibut. This was a wonderfully poached piece of halibut with a great sauce / salsa pairing.
Now we were still hungry at the end here but as mentioned had no interest in the bread or half chicken and mole would have been too large. I also am typically turned off by larger bone in chicken dishes at more upscale eateries.
Overall - I wish the menu had 2-3 more options (1-2 more smaller plates and 1 more larger plate but not 1/2 chicken large either). Perhaps a nice in-between. Also wish more attention was paid to the utensils served with each dish, and clean plates were rotated in more often. For example, after the enchilada and then tomato salad we now had the mixed salsa verde and chipotle base on our plated being mixed in with the agua verde - made some of the profiles much more unbalanced than they likely were.
Also wish the menu was in-sync with their online menu, they do mention that it is not though. I say this because now having tried all of the dishes we would likely have no interest in returning unless the menu was fresh don't have a way to know.
We did enjoy it overall, but do feel that some work and ground is still to be made. We remain hopeful for a future return if some of the kinks...

WOW.
Brilliant staff. Beautiful food. So delicious and delightful. Divine.
[I will edit this once I’ve confirmed names of the magical women who helped us have a magical dinner]
If you are a fellow nerd, everything about this place is impeccable. I was a last-minute add-on for a family dinner. So the Devine kept flowing as they accommodated us.…
I would love to sing the praises to our server, who was a Saint. Lauren (sp?) and goshdarnit I hope I’m remembering the hosts’ name as Kimberly? I’ll edit once confirmed:
The amazing woman welcoming people into such a gorgeous space (Kimberly or whomever was hosting SAVED us. She literally drew animal outlines on menu backs so that a beautiful & brilliant girl could have her energy at the table and color and color.
The entire staff was unreal. So wonderful. So sweet. So in tune.
Get the bread, wait for the hit of the taste of their butter. Get the corn. I almost missed it but a kind fellow at the bar said it must be had.
Definitely the ice cream bread pudding dessert thing. Whoosh!
And if i tried to describe the larger dishes, I would be at a loss.
Order everything your heart desires and it will be filled.
I’ve waited tables and loved it. Would still love to do so. Because being a part of a family having a magical meal is meaningful. It’s 36-ish hours ago but my heart is still full. And I can’t wait to go back and eat more.
If you’re still reading, my first house was in Sylvan Park. What a great neighborhood.
I’m happy in 12th South but this restaurant has me thinking maybe it’s time to move back closer to what’s still real, lovely and familiar. Sylvan Park may be the best hidden gems of a neighborhood in Nashvillle. So lovely and peaceful.
That’s how great this restaurant is.
Inspiring.
Thank you,...
Read moreThis is a brand new restaurant in West Nashville. Highly recommend you try this one. Reservations are highly suggested.
This is a Latin American flare, fresh farm to table concept. The flavors were amazing. The service was excellent. The staff knows their stuff.
We started out sharing a huge poblano Caesar salad with their homemade bread crumbles. Delicious. There was also their homemade bolillo bread with fresh garlic ramp butter spread. Fresh creamy butter flavor, not too much garlic!
And a grilled queijo cheese with an oregano honey dip. Crispy on the outside, cheese goodness on the inside. Honey headed the right touch of sweetness to set off the saltiness of the cheese.
Then we each had a chicken enchilada made with a fresh corn masa tortilla. Spicy salsa Verde sauce. Definitely not the typical dry American take of Mexico tortillas.
Then we shared this amazing grilled butterflied trout where one side was basted with a smokey salsa Verde and the other was slathered with a spicy salsa roja. I usually have a 450 mile(from ocean) rule when it comes to fish. This was very fresh, mighty tasty! Highly Highly recommend this dish. Delicious.
There was also steak with chimichurri sauce that was perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked. Fantabulous!
R had the vanilla semifreddo and I had the flan. We both had coffee with our dessert. Best cappuccino in Nashville.
Nothing disappointed. Fresh flavor, surprising combinations. I wanted to keep eating.
I wanted to try everything.
I hear they will be opening for breakfast and lunch too. I can't wait to try that too.
This is a place you need to experience...
