(2/10/17) I've been here a few times in the past; I live on campus at the Watkins college that's pretty much next door, so sometimes when I don't feel like cooking and can't get a ride somewhere I'll just walk over to this place for dinner. I just came from there...and that was my worst experience yet.
The guy who prepared my food (the gyro platter) totally skimped on the gyro meat in both quantity and size, like he was purposefully sifting through and trying to give me only the smallest pieces even though I could see that there were plenty of larger pieces in the warming pan (they're set up like Subway and Chipotle in that you step up, order, and watch through the sneeze guard as they put your food together). All the times I've gone before I've been given nice, big helpings, so I feel like I just paid $9.44 for a bunch of rice, pita, and the little salad they give you. I almost asked for extra meat but the platter's almost $10 already and I know for sure they would've charged me extra, so I left it alone.
Then I get to the register, and the woman who rang me up was too busy trying to watch the TV behind/above me to pay attention to what she was doing: asked if I wanted a drink (made a face when I said no)...looked up at the TV...snatched some napkins, threw them in my bag...looked up at the TV...grabbed a cup of ranch, tossed it in my bag while looking up at the TV...rang up my order...looked up at the TV...took my debit card...looked up at the TV...swiped it...looked up at the TV....
Got home only to find that the guy skimped on my salad too... two bites and it was gone, pretty much all tabbouleh and barely any lettuce. Pita bread was barely warm, kind of hard; again like Chipotle does with their tortillas, they put a circle of pita bread on the hot press or whatever for a few seconds, then cut it into 4 quarters. Mine was barely cut all the way, and some pieces of the gyro meat were burnt. It's disappointing because they're usually better than this. The food's good...don't know what happened this time. It'll be a while before I step foot in there...
Read moreTruly the best restaurant for this type of food that I’ve ever been to. For many years, my co-workers and I frequented kebabs as our office was close by. Their food was always so consistent. Then, we worked solely remotely for almost 3 years. I find myself craving Kebabs often, but now live a good ways from Nashville, so I can really only go on office days. We now go in to the office once a month. I made my return to Kebabs the other day! It was just as delicious as ever!! It was the best feeling of nostalgia. I was also glad that it “felt the same” though the entire area around it is changing. Though I’m not a fan of all the residential changes in the area, I DO hope that it greatly blesses Kebabs with a lot of new/returning customers and that this business forever thrives. The chicken platter is my favorite, but I don’t think you can really go wrong here. Highly...
Read moreI’m a serial reviewer and I can’t remember the last time I gave someone a 5 star review but this place is very deserving. I ordered the chicken plater and mmmmmm was it delicious. This food was a 15/10. They give you so much food. The customer service is impeccable. The food omgggg is so flavorful. Everything. Veggies fresh as can be. Granted.. I did go around 11 and they opened at 10:30. Chicken seasoned to perfection. Even the chocolate chip cookie was delicious. Wow. I have not one complaint. The chicken platter was around $10-11. I added cheese that was an upcharge of $1. Chocolate cookie was app. $1.65. After taxes and tip. I ended up paying around $16-18 dollars. I ate inside the resturant and it was a clean, fresh environment with...
