Whitt's Barbecue — Restaurant in Nashville-Davidson

I have eaten at Whitt's Barbecue for over 20 years. I used to live next to the Belle Meade location and since the Covid-19 pandemic I have been there at least 4 times and left at least 3 times because they choose not to wear a mask inside the kitchen area where they are preparing your food. I am told by the person in charge that the CDC does not require it. While the death toll in this country as far as I'm concerned should be enough to require it and the fact that the foremost epidemiologist in the country states that wearing masks is a deterrent for spreading this dreadful and deadly disease is recommended. I am really put off by the fact that the person preparing my barbecue sandwich which I happen to love does not wear a mask because "the CDC does not require it" according to the person I spoke with at the Belle Meade location today. 7/18/2020. I went ahead and paid for my lunch but told the person in charge that I didn't want to take my lunch and I did not necessarily need the refund. I told him that I walked into their establishment wearing my mask out of respect for them and to protect them and I expected them to be wearing a mask out of respect towards me and to protect me.. He offered to remake my sandwich himself while he wore his mask if that's what I wanted but it was too little too late. Usually they offer great food and great service. Tonight I was very disappointed. It is over an hour drive for me to choose to get BBQ from here. I made the mistake of not checking my order before I left and I was given the completely wrong order. I went to check my receipt but was not provided one. So I called and was really just looking for an apology for the mistake and to ensure I wasn’t charged for what I did not receive because I should have checked the order. So I do recognize I share some of the blame. However the gentleman on the phone proceeded to place all the blame for the incorrect order on me and my inability to communicate effectively. And the 1/2 rack of ribs I received instead of the 1 1/2 pounds of BBQ I ordered (I was feeding a family of 5) were dry and did not...

Overpriced and Terrible BBQ. First point they listed items on the menu they don't sell. Second, the quality of the food is awful the pork and turkey were both dry as ash had no flavor, no seasonings, and no smoke rings say just barely for the pork. Additionally the turkey had a metallic taste similar to potted poultry products. The sides I received was pickled cabbage posing as coleslaw and instant mac & cheese from a #10 can. The only descent item was the buns clearly sourced locally from an off brand bakery.
