This afternoon, I decided to order from this place through Uber Eats. The total came to $47.72 for a dish that included rice and beef stew, a portion of goat stew, and extra plantains. I specifically requested for the sauce to be kept separate, as I’m sensitive to spice—I can handle a bit of heat on the meat itself, but having hot sauce spread all over my food is a definite no.
To my deep disappointment, it was $47.72 completely wasted.
What I received was a bowl overflowing with an odd amount of enriched rice, drenched in a thick, overly spicy red sauce—exactly what I asked them to avoid. On one side, there were four tiny, burnt plantains and four small chunks of beef, two of which were literally bones. The meat was so tough and undercooked it would’ve needed at least another 40 minutes in a pressure cooker to be remotely edible.
As for the goat stew I paid for—if it was included at all, I couldn’t find any trace of it, and I genuinely searched.
Overall, I paid $47.72for a dish that completely ignored my request, tasted unpleasant, and had meat so tough I couldn’t even finish a single piece. I took a small bite of the rice, but it was the enriched kind, which I personally don’t enjoy. Even the plantains—small, burnt as they were—couldn’t be salvaged because they were soaked in that same spicy red sauce I politely asked to be served on the side.
I was about to order from Chipotle, but decided to support a small business instead. I thought I’d give this place a try, hoping to discover a new gem. But never again, straight to the trash. I regret no reading the reviews here prior cause it's definitely a pattern here and they will probably respond...
Read moreI visited this restaurant with my wife and our 1-year-old while in town, hoping for a great experience. Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, the service left much to be desired. My wife noticed a rude stare from the host (a dark-skinned lady with braces), but I encouraged her to overlook it, assuming it might have been a misunderstanding.
During our meal, our child, as toddlers do, made a bit of a mess—some rice and crumbs of meat pie fell on the floor. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the host came over and rudely said, “I’m going to bring a broom for you to clean this mess.” At first, I thought she was joking, but it became clear she was serious.
Before leaving, my wife and I made an effort to clean the table, as we would anywhere, but we didn’t pick up the crumbs from the floor—something that is standard for restaurant staff to handle. As we were leaving, I thanked the host, but she ignored me. My wife then apologized for the mess, and the host responded in a hostile manner, saying, “This is not nice at all.”
Beyond the poor service, the food itself was disappointing. The efo riro tasted spoiled, and the pricing was too high given the experience.
I always aim to support Nigerian businesses, and this review is not meant to defame but to encourage better customer service and professionalism. A welcoming attitude goes a long way in making customers feel valued, and unfortunately, we left with a bad taste—both literally and figuratively. We won’t...

The restaurant was clean, relatively spacious and moderately well appointed. The service was friendly albeit a little slow once we sat down. The proprietor was friendly and eager to please.
The food was authentic and absolutely delicious.
We (my son, my daughter and I) left almost nothing on our plates. The reason it was ‘almost nothing’ was that the portions were generous, and I couldn’t finish my jollof rice and asked for a takeaway box. We all went to the bathroom at the same time, so it was left on the table, and likely thinking we had left, the servers cleared it away. (It was so tasty, I had been looking forwards to having it as a snack later.)
I had the goat pepper soup (it was superb), some moyin moyin, and a shared platter of jollof rice with dodo with chicken. My son had the iyan okele with egusi and chicken (he would have liked some pepper stew on it), and my daughter ordered eba (but got iyan instead) with egusi and chicken.
It was very tasty. My son said it was like eating at home but that he will order more adventurously the next time.
Some Nigerian background music would be a plus.
Despite the little slips, I highly recommend this establishment. They are still relatively new, and I look forward to seeing it get...
