Kimball Park — Attraction in National City

The park seems peaceful & is very clean. They have a Skate park & during the year the hold special events. The week of the 4th of July, the have a huge Carnival with rides & games. They even give away free stuff. Around Thanksgiving, they give free Turkeys and food for families that need extra help. Around Christmas time, the have a Big Christmas giveaway, music and much more. They also have a backpack give away for the kids whenever the new School year starts over. I would have given them 5 stars, however they get a 3 because on a regular day, they have drug addicts in the park, doing drugs & watching the children play. I don't trust taking my kid & dropping him off. It's drug use in the park (grass area) as well as in the Parking lot! It's also grown men that sit in the car and watch children skate. When their skateboard brakes, he lured the kids to his car asking them if they would like help repairing the skateboard. Be very cautious when taking children to this park alone. Other than that, it's a great park & the Fire department is right up the hill. I believe the Boys and Girls club is next to...

As a park is pretty great cuz there's a lot of space to walk around and paths between the grass but with enough space for dogs or ball games. There's a field for baseball and an amphitheater, which I wish got used more but still a good place to work out for running up and down.a very expansive, two-story library that's right on the SW corner of it and has a playground, a youth center on the other side with a fire department and boys & girls club as well. The skateboard rink gets used fairly often from what I seen when I jog or bike by. Decent amount of parking on the sides as well as a few within though there is most likely more space at the library lot. You'll notice quite a few homeless people that like to hang around though I've never had any trouble with any of them. It's very clean for the majority of the time, and the only reason I don't give it a 5 is because the restrooms are often under supplied and tend to be messed up or plugged, I suppose that's just from people with bad hygiene...

The park is really well equipped! Theres a baseball field, skatepark, kids playground and individual toilet rooms. There is so much people that frequent the park from old people jogging, families having a picnic, pokemon go players (me), skaters, kids playing in the jungle gyms, students, and couples walking their dogs... there's always park maintenance people almost everytime I've gone (pretty random times) so it's well maintained, and Police Cruisers show up every now and then... so its pretty safe...there's an occasional ice cream truck that comes by too. If you're a Pokemon Go player, this park is known for it's generosity in handing out shiny pokemon... I used to come here every day after work for an hour or two to get my walk in and leave with two to three shinies...there's lots of stops that you can make a circuit or loop and there are two or three gyms near by on the outer edges...
