Walking in, the place definitely has a warm and welcoming vibe. The staff greeted us right away and made us feel comfortable. Everyone seemed in good spirits, super friendly and attentive throughout the visit. One thing that stood out was our table it was rocking back and forth a bit, which gave off a kind of ghetto, unpolished feel. Not a huge deal, but definitely something you notice.
Aside from that, the food really made up for everything. Everything we ordered came out fresh and hot. The flavors were on point, portions were solid, and you could tell they put effort into the kitchen side of things. The wait time wasn’t bad at all, and the presentation was surprisingly good. I just wished they had a cold beer to go with my tacos that would’ve really hit the spot.
It’s one of those spots where it might not look super fancy or perfect, but once you sit down, relax, and get your food, it all comes together. The overall experience was positive, and I’d definitely consider coming back again. Just hoping next time we get a table that...
Read moreI enjoyed a trio of very tasty tacos from this new Taqueria Los Chuchy's in National City, I ordered two al pastor and one carne asada tacos at $3.49 each plus tax.
One thing I really loved about the tacos was that they were well seasoned and came on freshly made corn tortillas. The carne asada was great. It was not only well seasoned and tender, but also had that nice charring and smoke flavor. The taco came topped with freshly made delicious guacamole.
The al pastor taco's pork meat was very tender and tasty. The marinade was delicious. These two tacos came topped with an avocado crema, which was very good. The corn tortillas on all three tacos were great.
They offer a very good salsa bar with fresh radishes and plenty of hot carrots. The place offers a good amount of inside seating. They also offer agua frescas.
The service provided by Fernanda was great and the cooks in the kitchen were in good spirits....
Read moreDrove 25 minutes south from North County just to find out they were out of tripa. Another customer from Scripps Ranch told me the same thing. We ordered the famous sombreros, carne asada and lengua. TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. The carne asada one had too much salt. The lengua one, totally tasteless. Cashier wasn't rude but seemed like she wasn't very happy of been working there on a Monday at 1pm. Had to fight with flies no to touch my food. Listening to Peso Pluma songs during your meal was very unpleasant. We'll never ever ever come back to this...
