I came here with a few people who had not had pho before, and all enjoyed their meals. They did say the shrimp in their seafood pho was a bit overcooked and tough. My fiancé got the chicken pho and his chicken was fairly rubbery and dry, but he liked the soup itself. The menu is split between Vietnamese, Singapore, and Thai foods. It was a bit hard to know what to expect based on the menu descriptions. Maybe more details or photos would have helped. I got the dark meat chicken pho, which was fantastic! It was served with raw iceberg lettuce on the side, which I thought was an odd choice. With pho, I have seen basil, lemongrass, cilantro, and even mint on the side, but iceberg was not a topping I would personally recommend putting in pho. There was also quite a bit of onions, scallions, and cracked peppercorns in the broth, which I didn’t mind, but it was interesting that some of it was not served on the side. The service was amazing; we came on a Sunday night, there was one other table already eating, and we were greeted right away. I’m not sure if our orders were taken by a server, manager/owner, or the chef, but both people who waited on us were very friendly and accommodating. This place looks like it is also a karaoke bar. No one was singing, but the background music was a little too loud and distracting for our group, (one of whom wore hearing aids) so that made the atmosphere a bit less inviting. The prices seemed a little steep for the quality of the food and atmosphere, but I would say overall it was good experience, and I hope they...
Read moreI love Vietnamese food. I am fortunate to get to visit Nebraska City to see family several times a year. With the opening of Tommy Angel Restaurant Pho, I'm even more excited to visit as regularly as possible. The owner and chef is an absolute delight to talk to, and was very eager to share his cuisine with us. He astutely recommended a different dish for me instead of my regular Pho Bo, and it was exceptional. My brother in law and nephew loved the chicken fried rice, and my wife had an incredible seafood pho. Portions are big here, so come hungry or expect to take home some leftovers.
The owner told us he was working on a new dish that he hopes to add to the menu by Christmas, and it sounds like it will be nothing short of delicious. I'm so glad this restaurant is here and I'm so excited to come back to try more dishes. Plus, they have a karaoke setup that looks like it will be fun to try out after a few hours at...
Read moreTonight is second time (in two weeks) that we’ve eaten here. I am so glad we finally discovered this place. It is so good! It is a nice atmosphere, and the food is delicious! We have tried the rice noodles with teriyaki beef, the egg noodles with beef and chicken, and the curry with beef. My family had the rice noodle soup with chicken and egg noodles with sea food. Tommy is great about suggesting and explaining the dishes and sauces. Tommy also makes everyone feel like family, and his wife is very sweet! Will be back again! Portions are large! Everyone except my dad ended up with leftovers to take home!...
