Went with my wife and a friend. We went right at open on a Saturday night. We didn’t reserve a table (our fault), and kindly asked if we could just wait or make a later reservation. The hostess asked if we would mind sitting at the bar, we told her sure. She went and asked the bartender if it was ok and from the look and body language the bartender gave it absolutely was not ok for us to sit at the bar. The hostess lead us to the bar and dropped us off. A few minutes later the bartender came and asked if what we wanted to drink (zero introduction), bartender was visibly upset my wife wasn’t sure what to order for a drink. She asked if my wife needed more time and my wife said yes. Bartender promptly made the two drinks and then ten minutes later came back and said “are you ready to order your drink now?” Wife orders and we tell her we are ready to order our food. Ordered our entrees and waited. Now we are in zero hurry to eat or anything. We are food service workers ourselves and understand all the ins and outs of the business. The wait for the food was quite some time. For the price of items I would have expected stuff to be made from scratch. Like the pasta? I mean if your gonna charge $28 for spaghetti and meatballs you should maybe make the pasta in house. I’m not gonna knock the food too much but the prices you pay absolutely do not reflect what you receive. Our bill for two entrees and one alcoholic beverage and tip was $85. No salad, no appetizer, no free bread for the table or anything. Regardless it’s not bad but it ain’t great. The bartender might want to reconsider a career change or just fake it and smile instead of being rude. She literally looked us up and down when the hostess asked if we could sit. Anyway food was 3/5 too expensive for what you get. Bartender/server was rude and shouldn’t be around any student learning her bad habits. Wish I could give a name but we never...

When I asked for seating for our two kids and infant, the manager came out: “It’s jazz night. I can’t make it any quieter in here.“ Me: “I’m not asking for you to make it quieter, I would like a table.” Manager: “It will be this loud all evening.” Me: “I understand that. I just want a table.”
We get a table. I tell them my husband went to get the car so we could put our stroller in it. 3 minutes later, I am asked to move my stroller because it is visually in the way of the band for other customers.
As someone who works with people with disabilities, I believe it is so important to be accommodating to people with wheelchairs, walkers and other modes of transportation that are not always convenient for others. This includes strollers.
We were so infuriated with how we were treated, especially as paying customers and Nelsonville residents. This is extremely disappointing. And our kids were phenomenal- no tears, no screaming. They just were enjoying the beautiful jazz music. But we left because the environment was toxic and we clearly were not wanted. If jazz night is not for children, then effing advertise it as such. Rhapsody management was rude, inhospitable and quite frankly infuriating. Do not recommend if you have...
Read moreStudents from Hocking College's culinary arts, baking, and hospitality program get on-the-job training at Rhapsody, providing customers with the type of fine dining experience that one would not normally find in a town where one-third of the 5000 residents live below the poverty line. The roasted beet salad was very nice, as were the fresh dinner rolls with whipped cinnamon butter. The Bang-Bang Chicken was crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the accompanying fried rice had just the right amount of spiciness. The steak frites plate could perhaps have benefitted from a little colorful garnish, but both the flavorful steak and the slender frites were done perfectly--no ketchup required. Although described as "Molten Lava Cake," the Hot Fudge Spoon Cake was not the super-rich, nearly flourless concoction with a hot, gooey center surrounded by a crispy chocolate crust that we expected, but rather a firmer cake ring with hot fudge sauce poured in the middle. It was tasty, but a little disappointing.
Equally unexpected but more pleasant was the jazz ensemble that accompanied our dinner. Rhapsody often features live music, and every Wednesday is "Jazz Night." One of our party happened to be celebrating a birthday the Wednesday we visited, so the good food, attentive service, and lively music made it an approprately...
