Starbrick BBQ — Restaurant in Nelsonville

My wife & I used them for our wedding reception in Logan Ohio. The meats were delicious & perfectly smoked, & all the sides were delicious! We ordered pulled chicken, pulled pork & beef brisket for the main courses.

The chicken & pork were great, but the brisket was outstanding! One of our relatives works for Famous Dave’s barbecue & he was highly impressed! Their was something for everyone, each guest had their own favorite thing. Even cold items like the macaroni salad were homemade & full of flavor. The smoked Mac & cheese was a unique & flavorful twist on a old standard, & EVERYONE loved the cheesy potatoes!

The 2 sauces we were given were excellent: a Memphis red & a mustard based Carolina-style sauce, & they complimented the smoked meats wonderfully. The owners are very friendly & genuine. I can’t thank them enough for making our wedding...

I wanted to order 1# of pulled pork because we wanted to skip the buns, which I believe it was 11.96 for the pound of meat. The cashier told me they needed a twenty four hour notice to get a straight meat order but I could order pulled pork sandwiches which would have given me 18oz of meat for $36.00!?!?! This did not make sense to me at all!!!! It was about 1/2 hour before closing time and I did not care if it was cold too, I just wanted the meat. Well I was not going to pay $25 for buns to get the meat. Knowing that meat is probably reused the next day turns me totally off too. Very poor customer service. I will NEVER return to this restaurant. I’ve eaten excellent brisket around Buckeye Lake that this establishment could not possibly compare. I will drive elsewhere. Sad for the area,...

We ate here several times before it became Starbricks and had positive experiences. Ordered Brisket/ Pulled Pork and Black and Blue Burger today. Burger was good but the brisket was extremely dry and seemed like it had been reheated. Asked the server if there was fresh brisket available as it seemed old and dry and was informed by server that the brisket was likely like that because the food sits under heat lamps all day. The server did not offer to replace food but brought out a small cup of "juice" that I was assured that would fix the problem. it did not. The food was inedible and left for the trash. The server never checked back in except to bring the bill and hurry away. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Lake Hope Lodge...
