I'm truly baffled by the 4.7-star rating this place has. Our experience was nothing short of a disaster, and it's clear from some other reviews that my issues aren't unique.
The service was absolutely horrible. We walked in and were completely ignored, even though there were plenty of staff members around. We had to ask one of the four people behind the counter where we should go. After a long wait, someone finally came to take our drink and food order. The drinks came, then later, our food arrived. The server literally put the plates down and asked us if we needed anything. We had to tell her to get us silverware.
One of our plates was missing salsa, and we didn't get our chips until just before the main courses arrived, despite seeing every other table get them immediately. We were never checked on, drinks sat empty, and we only got a to-go box when we were done with our meal and ready to leave.
The food itself was a major disappointment. "Just okay" is being generous. It was bland and missing flavor. I really can't emphasize enough how bad the service was, but the mediocre food didn't help either. Reading through other low-star reviews, I'm even more frustrated to see the owner or manager being so rude and snarky in their replies. It's a clear sign that they don't value customer feedback and are probably why the service is so bad in the first place. These are genuine issues, and this place needs to seriously rethink how they...
Read moreSabor Latino offers a selection of delicious and value priced Guatemalan and Latino specialties. We started with Garnachas, a sort of Guatemalan meat tart with savory ground beef piled on a fried tortilla, and then followed with two different kinds of Pupusas, which are a kind of Guatemalan quesadilla. For our entrees I had Tres Amigos, a platter piled high with chicken, shrimp and steak and served with rice and beans and piping hot fresh cooked tortillas, and my wife had chicken enchiladas. Everything was delicious and the total for two people didn't break 70 including the tip. If I have any complaint it's that the dining room is a little bright. Maybe lower the lights a little. The lights notwithstanding you should give Sabor Latino a try. You won't be...
Read moreJust moved to the area and wanted to give this new restaurant a try (they opened about a month ago). Extensive menu with a lot of variety and tried the chicken burrito, avocado burrito, and the Tres Amigos (a dish with steak, shrimp, and chicken). All were very good, with extremely generous portions. Is there room for improvement? Yes. They should definitely come with a variety of salsas to improve upon some dryness in the dishes but all in all they were delicious. Pricing wise they were a bargain, and I fed three hungry people for only about $30 and all of us only finished half the food because of portion size! Friendly staff as well. I look forward to seeing how this restaurant matures over time, and I'll be calling them again soon! Support...
