Updated review in response to owner: Repeatedly asking a family to stop kicking my crutches isn't an act of hostility, but being told by the mother that "kids will be kids, it's not a big deal" might actually be. The general manager witnessed this and did nothing. Instead of addressing the real issue, the owner shifted blame onto me and was defensive. Getting a comp wasn't even what I wanted, and whatever intended good gesture was undermined by the GM removing my beer. The owner suggested I need more compassion and empathy, yet showed none in their response and failed to recognize that their GM improperly assessed the situation and refused to resolve conflicts appropriately. This makes it clear that people with disabilities or injuries might not feel safe or respected here. I was really hoping that as bad as everything was, it was just a one-off, but management has made their stance super clear. The owner's response was unprofessional, deflected blame, and minimized my experience. This may happen to anyone who provides constructive feedback to this business.
Previously:
Thanks for seating an unruly family next to me. There was another empty table on my other side and three other empty tables in the dining area. Yes, I tried to sit at the bar first, but it was completely full, and it turned out that three people who appeared to be employees were taking up seats. I repeatedly told the family to stop their children from kicking my crutches. The server actually watched this happen while taking their order but pretended nothing had occurred. I had to get up and move to the other end of my table mid-meal.
The server even stopped by after I had asked for the check and asked if I was upset because of the beer. When I shook my head because that wasn't it, she just said she would comp it and took away the mostly full beer I was looking forward to finishing. It didn't make sense because I didn't finish my fourth taco and she didn't ask about that, seemed like she just wanted to take my beer away. Way to get this right. I didn't want a comp; I wanted to dine somewhere without getting picked on for having a disability. Thanks for unhappying my happy hour.
FYI, I still left the kitchen a tip, they had nothing to do with this. I had removed a previous 5 star review because I don't want anyone else going...
Read moreI'll give a little critique, being a cook myself. I like to call it constructive criticism. I thought I would check this place out since i'm out of town on vacation. To start, I want to say the bartender that is working tonight is very friendly, and the stiff drink got me right. Out of the whole experience, the only thing decent I have consumed is my drink and my french fries. I got a nashville hot chicken sandwich and upgraded to fries for 3$. The flavor of the chicken is just burnt spice, nothing throughout the meat. Maybe it would be best to marinate your chicken in buttermilk and hot sauce, some franks works well because it's well salted, it'll give you the tenderness and extra flavor. The fries are good similar to in n out but thicker, the fry sauce on the other hand you can keep, it doesn't have a great balance, just a sour finishing note, needs a bit of sweetness. I also got a 6 piece wing with buffalo sauce, not crispy but it's cooked, there are edges on each piece that are almost black but very dry, and there's no buffalo flavor either or really much sauce. I think I can do without the garnish of the green onions, not enticing and threw me off a bit, I could see if it was vibrant green pieces but that's not the case. Good service, poor food tonight, a bit of a let down and waste of money. Only thing keeping me vibing is that stiff drink. We can do better for sure though, I hope you can improve in the kitchen because it's a nice ambience and I'd like to get my monies worth...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a wide selection of craft beers or some fusion bar food then this is the place to go to. I’d say that this place is a pretty good gem when it comes to the South West area because those combinations are pretty hard to come by. And the cherry on top of that is that they’re open pretty later at night (not 24/7 but still good).
The interesting thing about this place is that you can always expect something new here whether it’s the beer selection or the food specials that they serve. I enjoy coming here and not knowing what to expect which is part of the fun of it. You will for sure a wide selection of craft beers and a choice of bar style food with an Asian fusion twist. Side note that was pretty interesting is that they also serve High Balls here (Japanese whiskey drink).
The bar sitting area is truly where it’s at since you get a view of their chalkboard menu of beers and you also get to keep your beverage cold on this cold metal that sits in the middle of the bar. The service will be faster especially in later at night since it’s mainly the bartender there. It is also pretty good if you have a party of people as it may accomidate a good amount of people. This place is pretty small though but I think that’s what makes this place a cool little spot to hang out with...
