Let me start by saying that the Manager Alisha did a nice job smoothing things over and almost had this review up to a three star then Will had to come back and make a sly comment. I'll get to that shortly
When we first arrived we explained that we wanted a particular area even agreeing to wait even though there was going to be a table ready sooner as we were there with my wife's family. After 10 minuets they still tried to seat us in the other area prev offered. I told the person that we agreed to wait longer to sit near our family no biggie they sat us near them.
Our server Will comes over and interacts with my kids which I love and took our drink order. After some time he comes back with half of the drinks and leaves no straws. After 10 minuets I flag him down as he is walking by and ask for the remaining drinks and straws. He proceeds to blame the bar as they get the drinks that were missing. Mind you this was chocolate milk and orange juice, he returns with the milk and apple juice (daughter was ok with apple vs orange)
He takes the order and while doing so kept rushing us by trying to complete our sentences (with each of my three kids kept saying with fries when 1 by 1 they offered yogurt with strawberries then when my wife said chicken he starting on the grill items not the one she wanted)
Food comes in spurts 2 of the kids meals and my father's, then mine and my 3rd child (one never came)
I ordered a medium streak which was well done
There was no condiments on the table except A1 so we had to take them from another table
I had to flag him down for refills, when my wife asked for water he huffed and made it seem as if we were bothering him
By the time we all finished my wife says I guess he forgot about my food. I ask the person seating other guest to get Will.
He comes over and I asked what happened with my wife's food and he made a omg face. I then tell him that he messed up the drink and my steak was over cooked he said (with a snarky attitude) sorry but the drinks come from the bar. I told him that he shouldn't blame the bar as he knew our order and should've realized it wasn't accurate.
I asked for his manager and told him that his service was not very good he replies I said I was sorry a few times slams his check book closed and gets Alisha
I explain the above and that Applebees is my daughter's favorites
She says she would talk to him and was going to get dessert and my wife's food on the house.
She returns with the dessert and food ahs the bill she took care of the two other entrees
I was going to leave 15 of what the bill was going to be then Will comes back. He says that he is sorry if we felt he was rude but he did say sorry a few times, I replied that just saying sorry isn't an apology if it isn't genuine he replied well it is only Applebees. I took back the tip and let his manager in front of him...

The first time I came here was valentines day with my fiancé. It was a 4 star experience I was satisfied and would love to come back again. The manager was wonderful and our server was not bad at all. A few things could be helped but hey.
Memorial day dinner was awful. A 1 star service and dinner. Different manager so there's that. Not to pin on alone on him. I believe there was nothing but first time server mistakes I had all night and cooking mistakes I told corporate through the survey.
The food. Oriental Chicken salad should not taste like coleslaw with tenders. The all you can eat or ayce should not be a hour between meals.
The service. I'm a Navy veteran. No shit was a submariner. Server did not strike up conversation. Did not write things down. Did not explain well to us on how the ayce works as the special. Do not order it. It sucks. My fiance had to ask for a straw 4 times, her drink came in after a hour when the bartender finished it 15 minutes in. I got my salad and first plate of ribs and fries within 15 minutes. I understand she ordered after, however her steak was medium which takes 25 minutes. I was also a server, so was she. That meal took 45 minutes to come out. A medium steak. Not well done. If you know you know. Each time the server asked us about anything, he'd run by the table and not be still and listen and write it down. He was too focused on other tables to give the time of day. A veteran and his fiancé on memorial day.
I'm not upset with the server. Even though he kicked my foot 3 times during service. Yes this actually happened. He only apologized and gave better service once I got my food wrong the 2nd time and after he kicked me 3 times. I asked for the manager. And was explained properly.
I feel he is very new. My review will change in the future if I experience the service I got received on valentines day as opposed to memorial day. But please. Start writing everything down as practice and ask questions that can help you from making multiple trips.
Questions like, "I see you ordered a steak, would you like any condiments with that?" Simple things like this would really make this service a whole lot stronger. Again I want to see that server do well because I know he capable of doing so. I hope he reads this not negatively but in a way where he builds himself better as a server.
Again this rating will change I just expect a more caring service for the next time thank you.
Also please note. Don't forget a veterans discount, especially on veterans day or memorial day. I don't think I need to...
Read moreDon't eat here!! Find an Applebees on a better side of town!!Took my girls on May 30th 2019 to the S Maryland Parkway location. Was not very busy the food did take quite a while to come out. They first brought out only one person's food my daughter she began to eat. And they brought out 5 minutes later everyone else's food walked away and there was no silverware. There was no waiters in sight to ask for silverware I began to roam around the restaurant to find some ask found one on the other side of the room and asked the waiter for silverware and an extra plate for my shrimp fajitas that I was sharing with my daughter. She finally brings me the silverware by that time my food was cold. The tortillas for hard as rocks. My daughter that was already eating her food looks down all upset because she was eating out of a really dirty Bowl. Looked like bbq or a dark sauce all over the inside of the bowl. My second daughter looks at the plate that was brought to us and it was dirty as well. I asked the waiter for a Clean Plate and explained that my daughter was eating out of a dirty Bowl still willing to eat there and she gave me a snotty reply and said I will send your waiter over in a minute went and helped somebody else. We still waited and waited at the table until I decided to just to get up and walk out. The manager Angela at that point meets us by the door and offered to Pack us up the dirty food and give it to us for free however at that point we didn't want it. I just don't understand how a chef, while he's preparing to put food into a bowl and serve to a guest didnt notice how dirty the bowl was and still puts food in the dirty Bowl and didn't care less to serve to a guest. I really still feel upset about the situation and feel like we should still be accommodated to eat at maybe a nicer Applebees on another side of town. I would never eat thers ever again!! I still have the managers card I will think about it but I will definitely not go back there and eat.. If the bowls and plates are that dirty without care i can only imagine whats going on in...
