The Latina bff suggested dinner here before our comedy show at South Point...great call
Baja Service & Ambiance: This is a casual Mexcian restaurant with a huge dining area with plenty of booths and tables to accommodate lots of local diners. Not much Mexican decor as this could easily be confused for a Casino Coffee shop but it's clean and well lit. The staff at the host table were very friendly and got us seated immediately. The busser got our drinks and complimentary chips and dips to the table as soon as we sat down. Our server stopped by later and checked on us once after we received our food. The busser was great with keeping the drinks fresh throughout the meal. He was awesome
Baja Mexican cuisine: We both went for the combo plates that you get to build yourself and they have a lot of options to choose from. 3 Combo plate and I went: chicken enchilada, cheese Enchilada and the pork tamales. All 3 were tasty but the chicken enchilada and tamales stood out as they were prepped very well, no part dryness in the meats at all. The combo plates come with beans and rice so you get plenty of food on the plate. Between the complimentary chips and dips and the 3 combo plate, I couldn't finish my meal.
Baja Miguel's is currently at 3.8 stars on google which kind of baffles me but local reviewers can be brutal sometimes I guess. The service is good and you get pretty good value overall for the quantity and quality of the dishes. Local casino restaurants tend to under perform but Baja Miguel's is an exception to this. I'll swing by and try other dishes next time I'm around but that's another tale....
Read moreRarely come to Vegas, for many reasons. In town from San Diego to catch a quick, cheap flight, pick this place for a quick, no frills dinner. I should’ve trusted my gut. Roll in an hour before closing, it’s a full house due it being the last day of NFR. I get seated in the overflow area by the bar. Order a Cadillac margarita, I got a plastic cup filled with sugary pre mix and well liquor, not a trace of triple sec or grand marnier. Served never brought water. Free chips and salsa, chips were okay, salsa is just skinned and diced tomatoes from a can… water is spicier, guacamole is more like chopped veggies meets avocado paste, and refried beans, but they were more like paste. Server returns to take my order, spits on my arm when speaking, pretty gross. No apology, I wipe and order the ceviche, looking for a lighter and more pocket friendly fare. It came in a slanted glass cup, so it was difficult to start eating without spilling it. Juice at the bottom was basically salt water. Several pre cooked shrimp, probably from a grocer, and scallops (maybe??) with a couple hair-like strings of “crab.” Excessively salty. As though salt were keeping it dead. Served with chips, same ones from the opener, and one very large, deep fried, flour tortilla chip. Some very dry limes, and a spoon. Taco Bell is a 5 star restaurant compared to this… establishment. Ahh, Vegas provisions always remind me why I never...
Read moreIn all fairness I will say I have had some good meals at Baja Miguel's. But today something was horrendously wrong and I think management needs to know about it. The waiter did not take the order properly. So my lunch got served in three pieces, because the two side dishes had to come separately. Then I ordered a "regular" margarita which I will never do again. Usually I get the Cadillac margarita and that's good. The "regular" has no liquor in it. Then for dessert all I wanted was an Irish coffee -- after waiting fifteen minutes the server came by with Bailey's and coffee. So I just gave up and got the check and left. I don't know if I'm ever going back there again. It is unbelievable to me that any bartender in Las Vegas doesn't know how to pour a shot of whiskey into a coffee cup and top it with whipped cream. The place was empty when I got there and there is simply no excuse for this level of non-service and flat out lack of knowledge. And I have had Irish coffee here before so I know that some bartender there knows how to make it. I used to bring people from out of town to Baja Miguel's and now I'm going to...
