We walked in around 1:35pm on October 1st, 2023 and the host named Dayan (may be misspelled it) was rude and un-professional to us.
We were a party of four that included me, my wife, my brother-in-law and my mom. My mom flew in from India to visit us, it was her first time trying Chilli's in the US and it was her wedding anniversary today. My father recently passed away from Covid, it was a very special and important day for her and us as a family. We decided to go to Chilli's for this special day. After parking our vehicle, we walked in around 1:35pm and the host, female and her name was Dayan or Daiyen according to the manager, was busy playing with her nails and wasn't even looking towards on-coming customers. I initiated our interaction by saying: "Hi there! Could we please get a table for 4?" To which she responds by pointing towards the corner of the bar with an empty table. I asked her two times if there is a booth available instead? We could see atleast 3 empty booths on the right side and then she said "did you hear what I said? Go to the corner by the bar." She was so rude, this is not how hosts, the first point of contact of a business should act like. I told her that we are going to leave because she is extremely rude and then she said "so what?". I told her if she can call her manager because we want to give feedback. She said whatever and walked away. After few minutes a person with glasses came and apparently he was the manager.
We explained him what happened, he seemed shocked and said "no wonder he's been getting too many complaints ". He then said he will talk to her and did apologize to us and offered us a table. I told the manager about my mother and that it was her first time trying Chilli's and I come from a back ground of running restaurants as a GM.
We told the manager that after being insulted like that we don't want to patronize this Chilli's anymore. This is completely unacceptable, if we are a paying customer and we walk in and politely ask to be seated, why do their workers have to flip us like that, what's our fault? Does this Chilli not want new regular customers? We were so bummed, i still cannot believe that even the manager didn't try to keep us as a customer? Being a GM I have a pro tip for the manager, never let a customer walk out unhappy, especially if you know you or your staff messed up big time, it has a ripple effect. Once the customer leaves, it's done, they are most likely not going to try your business again and neither will recommend. It was always be negative word of mouth. Try your best to keep a customer, not only they will always return but you will get free marketing by word of mouth.
After reading other reviews, it seems like bad customer service is very common at this location and the management should implement better training and employee screening. Why hire people who hate their job and are repelling your...
Read moreSo I came last night because the Chili’s on Craig Rd was so impressive that I had to come to Chili’s for a second time this week. I should’ve just went back to that location but I was just getting off work so this was the closest one to me at the time. This location was by far the WORST location I’ve been to. The service I received was so horrible. Both the bartender and manager need to be retrained or fired at this point. I sat at the bar, my bartender was Adolfo. I ordered the 3 for me special. I got the chips & salsa in which I usually LOVE.. I couldn’t even eat it. The chips tasted like they haven’t changed their grease in months. I returned the chips to the food runner for new chips. The new chips came out exactly the same. I ordered the 6oz sirloin cooked medium with the loaded mashed potatoes and broccoli. Adolfo came to check on me after my food was delivered before I took a bite and asked me was everything okay. I told him yes. Everything looked fine but mind you I haven’t even touched my food yet. Once I bit into my steak, I was so disappointed. The steak had no flavor and it was cooked more medium well than medium. Adolfo NEVER came back to check on me. He finally came back to me after about 30 mins.. mind you… they were not busy at all. I told him about the chips and I told him about my steak and all he said was “ok thanks for letting me know”… He didn't apologize, he didn’t do anything but have his manager take the chips & salsa off my check. I was thinking at least the manager would come talk to me or do something. I ended up asking for the manager and the manager was even worse than the bartender. I told him my issues and he had no compassion at all. He seemed so upset he even had to come talk to me. I work in the service industry and I’ve never experienced service like that in my entire life. I literally will never come back to this location ever again. At this point, the manager should just resign and find a new industry because he is not meant for the hospitality industry at all. He’s gonna run all your customers away. I’m assuming they just thought I wanted something free but in reality I just wanted some compassion and for my food...
Read moreOur experience was pretty good compared to other restaurants. We order the nachos, which let me warn you, they are not gonna look like nachos. They are fancy chips in a circle that have meat inside of a toasted cheese and chip sandwich. Tasty but not what I was expecting. Of course, the chips and salsa is always a good choice, usually you can always get this for free if you sign up for their reward membership. I got a regular burger with cheese. It was called the Big Q. It was made to what I asked for it to be ordered. The fries were seasoned and pretty OK, but definitely pair well with the ranch. They have that runny restaurant ranch that is so good with french fries At this visit, it seemed like our waitress was kind of distracted. She took her order, but our nachos took about 20 minutes to come out and we ordered them early. And our food came out promptly after we finished the nachos, it was pretty well timed. But as I started running out of water, it seemed like our waitress was nowhere to be found. And then we never got napkins until we asked for it after we had our two appetizers and already started eating our regular food. I understand that is partly on me for not asking until I actually remembered, but also why was I never given napkins in the first place? It’s very convenient to be able to pay right at the table and head out as soon as you’re done eating. I’m definitely gonna come back, but I hold my waitress or waiter in the future, is not so distracted...
