Handel's Homemade Ice Cream & Yogurt (Handels) — Restaurant in Nevada

This has to be one of the worst experiences that I’ve had when simply trying to enjoy a nice treat with my family.

We reside in Henderson, and we chose to make the long trip to this location to indulge, but on this particular trip, the service and product received were awful. This was also not the only time that we’ve had a bad experience, but we had hoped that it was a one-off situation and wanted to give it another go. We all now wish that we would’ve made the even longer drive to our beloved Bruster’s on Durango, as it would’ve saved us from this headache.

We placed our order for pickup around 9:20p on Wednesday night, August 21st. We ordered 4 samplers. We arrived around 9:45p for the order and decided to check to be sure that everything was correct, as in times past, it was incorrect. Upon opening the bags, 2 of the samplers were perfect! As we grabbed the other 2 samplers, it was as if we were being pranked, as the strawberries were all over the place, the ice cream was soft and melting and most of it was within the walls of the container and seeping out. We immediately walked back to the counter for assistance, to which the young male seemed to be under the influence of something and just backed away and said that he would get the manager to help us. Once the female manager came to the window, although she saw the condition of the containers and knew that we had just left from picking them up from the window, she began to say that she would not replace them, as the owner has explicitly stated that it would be a waste of product and can not be done and that she was sorry. I was sure to reiterate the condition of the ice cream and point out the fact that had they been in the freezer along with the other containers, the ice cream would not be melted and seeping out on the sides and back of the container. The female manager repeated what she stated earlier and began to add other things that didn’t seem to make since to express to me, the customer, such as, “the reason that I’m not making them again doesn’t have anything to do with the finances of the store, but I shouldn’t even go into that, as it would be a whole other thing, never mind.” I’m not sure the relevance of the finances and it made me feel uncomfortable. She also said that although she couldn’t replace the samplers due to the owners rules, she apologized for the state of them and said that she wished that she could help.

I have quite a few issues here, as my mother has spent nearly 40 years in the industry and would never tolerate such behavior, as it is not good customer service. This issue was one created by the lack of the staff and we should not have to suffer as paying customers for an item that does not meet quality. The items, as pictured, look as if the staff literally tossed it to one another, forgot to place it into the freezer until 5 minutes before our arrival and hoped that we wouldn’t notice. In a word, unacceptable! Even if we had dropped the ice cream after picking it up, the establishments that we’ve often frequented would’ve made it right and made it again as a courtesy. But, that was not the case. We did nothing wrong; we just ordered from this location and trusted that we would be treated fairly by the staff and receive what we paid, not melted, tossed around, sloppy looking ice cream. This didn’t have to become a big deal, as the staff should’ve admitted fault and made an effort to right the wrong. All in all, a very bad experience at this location! Wow !!! Hands down this is definitely the best ice cream spot in town!!! It is truly homemade ice cream that is made fresh daily and you can taste the difference.

The ice cream is so FLAVORFUL, CREAMY , QUALITY INGREDIENTS and just SOOOOOO DELICIOUS 😋!!!

They have on their menu a ton of delicious flavors and they are all amazing. Flavors are literally out of this world. Our personal favorite are : Lemon Bar, Coconut Cream Pie, Graham Central Station, S’mores . 🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦But honestly you can not go wrong no matter what flavor you choose.

They have the biggest ice-cream portions ever!!! We have ordered a small size cone and received what we are used to thinking of as a large size, it’s literally like three to four scoops on each cone. It’s a huge plus and definitely worth the money.

The staff is very friendly and helpful providing quick service. We have met the owner of this special ice cream shop and she is super nice, caring and kind person. She truly cares about her customers and staff as well . Overall an Amazing person !

We definitely need more Handel’s ice cream shops in Las Vegas, because they are phenomenal!!!!
