They give you a menu then the waitress comes with a mug & jug of cold water. I asked the waitress if she preferred the ramen or curry & which ones were her favorite. She said the ramen - Creamy Tonkotsu & Black Garlic were her favorite but she would bring me a sample of the curry which was surprisingly flavorful & delicious. I went ahead & ordered the Baby Octopus for appetizer but the waitress came back immediately & said the octopus was now sold out 🙁. She also suggested the Curry Ramen as it was a mix of both worlds. I was still on the fence but ended up ordering the Creamy Tonkotsu, large hot sake & Taiyaki w/ ice cream for dessert. -Hot Sake was ok but a tad harsh... there's better flavored inexpensive hot sakes so would skip next time & get the Sapporo beer instead +Creamy Tonkotsu was surprisingly flavorful, butter added an extra richness, the noodles were a good altho a tad overcooked, the soft-boiled egg was really basic but the pork chashu was tasty... I enjoyed it mild then added the side of spicy to it incrementally (be careful bec it's salty+spicy). The richness is amazing at 1st then gets overpowering... I wanted to finish it but couldn't. I'm very particular about my ramen given that I've eaten ramen thruout Japan & the rest of the world 🙃 +Taiyaki was surprisingly fried/hot (guess I hadn't had it before bec I was expecting it to be cold like the fish-shaped ice creams I'd had in Japan), green tea ice cream was good but very mild flavor & vanilla ice cream was good Definitely recommend trying this place & would come back to try more items on the diverse menu.

My family and I decided to eat here tonight (13 Aug 2023) because we were already in the area. We tried this place several years ago and remembered how much we liked it, and since we were in the mood for some ramen, this was perfect for us. We ended up ordering the Miso Ramen, Chicken Ramen, Black Garlic Ramen, salad, and 3x orders of Gyoza. The quality of the food is exceptional and the price to quantity ratio was very respectable. I believe this restaurant has the same owner as a ramen restaurant we've tried in the Centennial Hills area called Ichi Ramen (located in the Northwest part of the valley), because the menu selection is pretty similar. If this is the case (which I think it is), then there's so many other items on the menu we've tried and were not disappointed with any of it (Soft Shell Crab, Chicken Katsu Ramen, and many more). We also live in the far Northwest part of Las Vegas so it's great to have good ramen close to our house. The staff working here tonight were very friendly and attentive. We only had the privilege of interacting with two of the employees (girl who was our hostess/server and the guy who helped bring the food to our table), but I'm sure the rest of the crew working tonight are awesome as well. It's unfortunate that I didn't get their names but I'm sure the folks working here can figure out who I am referring to. I especially appreciate how this restaurant supports the men and women of the military and its Veterans - thank you for that. Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Wow what a pleasant surprise. A friend of mine raved about Kobashi after her brother took her here when he was visiting from out of town. My expectations weren't high when I went. Although I have visited Japan I am not an expert on Japanese cuisine. Aside from having a couple high end sushi experiences I have only been to a couple Japanese restaurants here in the US. We went late afternoon/early evening to avoid any rush. Nice little place with a pleasant atmosphere. Started with popcorn shrimp, shrimp & vegetable tempura, and takoyaki. The popcorn shrimp surprised me. Fried to perfection but the chipotle mayo and yum yum sauce really make this dish stand out. Way better than I was expecting. The tempura was good but I was really looking forward to the takoyaki, or octopus balls. I loved to eat this street food when I was in Japan. My friend was skeptical about trying it but really liked it. Was as good as I had in Japan. Then had the black garlic ramen since it was one of their signature ramens. Excellent choice and I would recommend it. Then I had the beef stew curry extra spicy which was very good but not really spicy, but Japanese food isn't really known for its spiciness. My friend ordered a braised chicken and potato croquette curry. It is my understanding that most Japanese restaurants serve ramen or curry, usually not both. Kobashi has both and both are good.

They are open for seating during COVID19. They are practicing social distancing and mask is required. I think it’s pretty cool as you come in they take your temperature, it took 5 seconds to do that. The restaurant ambiance was great, not too bright inside. Very industrial look. They have several tables but the place is not super big. Anyway, we were seated right away and menus handed to us. For appetizer we order soft shell crab and rice Net shrimp. They were prepared beautifully and it tasted good! They both crunched when you bite into it, then the flavor slowly distributed in your mouth! Yumm! For the main course we order Shoyu Ramen with pork Kimchi Fried Rice and Curry Vegetable with tofu ( this one was a make your own curry dish) and a potato croquette. Every looked so pretty and tasted good of course. Drinks & Dessert: we got Strawberry Nigory (a type of sake). Tasted like strawberry but it warms you up :). And for dessert we had Vanilla Ice cream. Our server Kyle was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and he was very attentive. The food came fast and it was nice and hot! ❤️❤️❤️ my experience here at Kobashi. And did I mention it was our first time here! We will come again! There’s more to try in in the menu! Check out the pics!!!

My boyfriend and I came here on Sunday around 6PM. It wasn't too busy so we got seated right away. This is the first time we ever been here. Unsure of our server name but it was a guy. There were fast to bring out the water and utensils. He came back to take our order and got the food out pretty fast. I ordered the spicy tonkotsu (no bean sprouts or bamboo shoots) with extra egg, one California roll. My bf order same as spicy tonkotsu and two extra eggs, extra noodles. The California roll would a good basic roll, my only complaint would be the avocado was very very little portion. The tonkotsu was tasty in the broth, only complaint would be the eggs were closer to hard boiled, no where near runny or yolky (on the menu, it said soft boiled egg). Also the pork chashu was three small slices and razor thin. They were falling apart in the broth. Also when we asked for spicy, I appreciate they give it to you on the side so you can choose how much spiciness, but I think it was just sirracha on the side... Total was about $43, including $5 tip. Overall- I probably wouldn't recommend bc it seems over priced and mediocre, the portions were on the small side and service wasn't all that great.

Came here due to seeing high ratings on Google and was not disappointed. Attended with a couple friends and ordered food to go for the others back at the hotel. Everyone mentioned loving the food and it really hit the spot after a long night if drinking. Personally I ordered the popcorn lobster roll and the black garlic Ramen. I've had many different types of sushi rolls and this one roll was by far the best one for an amazing price. The lobster warm and crunchy, sauces were flavorful, and overall a well made roll. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I'd have tried other rolls, but my friends didn't like seafood. After the roll I was stuffed and only able to have about half of the Ramen but it was delicious. Flavorful, perfectly cooked noodles, nice presentation, and also worth the proce tag. I love garlic so the big chunks satisfied my craving. Added corn and wet seaweed as well, very nice touch for my taste. Reading the menu is suggested so you have an idea of what you want before arriving. Service was timely. Staff was respectful and attentive. Overall a clean and appropriate atmosphere with amazing food for a very good price.
