This morning my family visited MiCasa, a Mexican Grill located in the Silverton Hotel. It was my first time dining here. We decided to change our brunch plans in Henderson at the last minute on the strength of word of mouth and MiCasa's $13 bottomless margarita offerings. The brunch menu was unimpressive. My wife and I ultimately shared the Mexican Breakfast Skillet. Prior to ordering, we enjoyed the bottomless house margaritas. Small, strong and authentic; well worth the $13 after one or two if you ask me. When our server delivered our drinks, he spilled a bit on my the table and some got on my cousin. No apologies offered, nor did he return to clean the mess. Though he didn't spill an entire drink, a little server courtesy goes a long way. It took too long for refills and for our food to be delivered. Mind you, we ordered at before noon yet our food wasn't delivered until close to 1:20pm so just over an hour’s wait. The long wait time continued with every trip he made to the table. The skillet wasn't great. The eggs were overcooked and the seasoning was uninspired. I also asked for my avocado on the side and it never came. After finishing our meals, my cousin placed an order for fried ice cream and we’d enjoy another round while we waited. The checks came about 30 minutes later and my cousin pointed out that she ordered the fried ice cream to him again. His response, "Me too!" he then took her check and ran away. He returned to let us know that they didn't have any of the fried variety today. Mind you, she ordered nearly 30 minutes prior to this conversation; these are things that should be pre-shifted to the servers prior to opening. Our server left again and my cousin called the manager over, who was walking the floor. She mentioned the spilled drink from earlier and the poor communication on the fried ice cream order. He apologized and offered ice cream but it wouldn't be fried. A couple sips into my 4th drink I noticed something black in my glass, with legs on it. OMG, they served me a drink with a bug in it! I immediately got the attention of our server. I showed him that there was a bug in my drink. Again, we were offered no apologies. He did ask if I wanted another drink and I declined, as I was over it and disgusted at that point. He took the drink quickly and stormed away as if it was my fault. Seriously, you just served me a drink with an insect in it and you think I want to ingest anything else from this place? He returned to pick up our checks but I wanted to address the issue with the bug one more time. I asked, so what are we doing about the bug in my drink? He snootily responded, "I can't take the bottomless drinks off the check." -- I replied, "I didn't ask you to remove anything. I asked you what you were going to do about it." (Again, trying to set him up to offer an apology, but to no avail.) I demanded to see a manager. The manager returned to the table and I let him know of my dissatisfaction. Not only was there an insect issue but our service was slow, the server uninformed about the menu and that it is apparent that there is a serious training opportunity here as basic service standards were not being met. The manager then apologized (which is all I wanted) and then proceeded to justify that 'from time to time this happens.' Wait, what? As a guest, the last thing I ever want to hear is that 'from time to time' you serve your guests meals and/or drinks with bugs in them. The correct thing to do in this instance is to take ownership of the problem, apologize and offer a comparable solution. Done deal. Guests aren't interested in excuses. I wasn't even interested in a refund, I just wanted an apology for serving me a damn insect in my drink. He did offer to take it off my bill anyway, which I accepted. At that point, I was over the entire experience and there was no way I would accept an offer to return, even with a fully comped meal.

We came to the Silverton casino to have a little fun in the slots machines. I didn't know I had 25 dollars free play and a 25 dollars dining voucher, so we decided to try out this restaurant inside the casino. At first, I was a bit confused about what type of food it was. To my surprise, it was Mexican with a Japanese twist. They had Mexican food and sushi, which was a bit odd. We ordered the fajitas mix, which had shrimp, beef, and chicken along with grilled onions and bell peppers. That plate cost 47 dollars. It said on the menu that this was for 2 people. Once we got our food, I was very disappointed with what was in front of us. We got very little meat, not enough for 2 people. I think this place is overpriced for what you're consuming. Besides the food portions being so little, the restaurant is pretty nice. The service was good. Thank god we had a coupon bc I wouldn't pay that much for so little food. I posted some photos so hopefully, the owners can add more meat to accommodate their asking price. Our plate can with a side of beans and rice pico de gallo and guacamole. Chips and salsa were given to us once we got seated.

This little gem nestled inside the Silverton Casino definitely exceeded my expectations. I was first intrigued by the restaurant’s unique marquis, which, attracts customers but after tasting the food, I quickly found out the main reason people frequent this restaurant. The food was very flavorful and well seasoned. The portions were larger than expected specifically, the tacos which, were packed with meat. The seafood enchiladas were great and cooked perfectly. Surprisingly, the sushi rolls were some of the best I’ve had. The fish was fresh and the plating of the sushi was visually appealing. Our waiter Assaya was great and very attentive. He suggested some of his favorites, which, I did try. If there was one negative, I wanted to order the mango lobster guacamole but was told it would take 30 minutes to prepare due to staffing issues. This was unfortunate. However, I did enjoy my overall dining experience and would encourage you give it a try.

UPDATE: we came back and food and service just as good as the first time. Although this time we had the toughest food critic with us, OUR Granddaughter age 5. She ate the salsa and beans and did not want to share; we had to get our own chips and salsa. then came our food we had the Ceviche Shrimp Tostadas, she had to have her own did not want to share with her mom. she ate it all. the main entree, shrimp and carne asada fajitas and a combination plate ( shrimp enchilada, pork tamale, and a chicken taco. thinking granddaughter would have the chicken taco? nope she had to have some of everything and she ate it all. we had to laugh when dinner was over she was like papa can you buy me some shrimp so i can have them for dinner tomorrow and a tamale too. you can tell what she thought were the stars of the meal. last month First time here and my husband and I will definitely be coming back!!! Our server Amelia was one of the BEST we have had in Vegas in a long time. From her smile, awesome attitude, excellent service to the great drink and dessert recommendations (which were spot on and so good) She made our meal that much better. The food was OMG good. The shrimp in our entree were so good cook just right and huge! The steak was full of flavor and cooked just the way I like it without having to ask. Even Gordon Ramsay could not have complained it was that good. The desert was really good. I love cheesecake but their cheesecake was on a whole different level. So glad our server recommended it. Sorry again honey I didn't share but it was that good. We both are looking forward to our next visit and trying something different. Thank you to the whole kitchen for a phenomenal meal. The saying promise greatness and deliver excellence is definitely what everyone one from front of house to back did. This is one of those times I wish I could give more than 5 stars. You can not go wrong...

I brought my girlfriend here for our first time to try it out, I made reservations and everything hoping for a fun night out. The hostess sat us at our table. Michael (busboy) stopped by immediately to bring us water, chips & dip. We then waited 10 more minutes (on the verge of getting up and walking out) for our waiter, Luis to finally stop over and acknowledge us telling us, "I'll be right back with you guys". Another at least 5 minutes passes before he stops back by and asks what we'd like to drink, it was a bit frustrating he didn't even apologize for the long wait - this alone is unacceptable for a service/food industry. By this time, we already had our choice of drinks and food in mind so placed our order. The food came out in a very appropriate time however we never had silverware stocked at our table so our food is dropped off and again, Michael stops by so we ask him for silverware. While he is getting it (probably 5 or 6 minutes after we received our food) Luis finally decided to drag himself over and we again asked him for silverware because we were still sitting there waiting to eat. We finally got our silverware but by the time we did we were so frustrated that we weren't even hungry anymore. We took our food home in a box.

It was so irritating because you don't expect a busboy to have better service than your actual server and on top of that, we went there to eat not bring our food home in a box. Customer service is crucial at restaurants, if the service is bad it can dampen the experience dramatically and that is entirely what my review is based off of, I would hate someone else to plan an enjoyable night out like we did for it to be completely ruined by the service. It is so unfortunate our service was horrific because the food was actually very pleasant tasting.

Luis need to be DEMOTED and Michael needs to be PROMOTED. These locals will never be...
