I'm updating my review of this restaurant for the second time in 10 months. I was again disappointed. Silverton is a small hotel but it's obviously going after tourists instead of the locals anymore. Because they keep screwing up their menu. I ordered a Cobb salad and did not get a Cobb salad. I got some type of salad with some of the ingredients of a Cobb salad, doused with blue cheese dressing which I would have preferred on the side. It did not include any avocado, and the ingredients were not separated as is traditionally the way with the Cobb salad. They also raise the price for this mess to $15. My husband's chicken fried steak was horrible he said. Very greasy and thin and caked in greasy dressing. The service was pretty good but the food not so good any more. I've had many good meals here in the past, but this week a Saturday night dinner was not great. I say it's a sign of poor management, when you have to wait a few minutes to be seated, you are required to make a reservation, and you have to wait to check out. There was only one person being the cashier, hostess and the person who serves the ice cream at the entrance. I tried to order a glass of wine with my meal, as it is on the menu. But was told by the waitress that it was impossible to get it delivered. Later when I was leaving I saw a cocktail waitress bringing a tray with two glasses of wine into the restaurant. Few minutes after the waitress delivered our meal, we were presented with the check. She said no hurry , but she never came back to ask if we needed anything or to wrap up my leftovers, which I would like to have taken home. They did not seem particularly busy at the time. Also a note to management, when a Golden Knights game is on live, maybe put it on more than one TV in the room. The service was much more prompt and efficient at the bar in front of the Sundance Grill, where we stopped to play a little on...
Read moreWe went out for a late evening date, and there aren't too many restaurants open incredibly late at night... except for the Sundance Grill, if you happen to be in the Silverton! We literally had a fabulous evening the entire night, and it started at this Cafe! The food was decent, true... but the service was EXCEPTIONAL! This was the kind of server I would have hoped to receive at the high-end places I've visited so often, yet leaving with disappointment... but not here! Sundance Grill has an absolute ALL STAR working for them, and we are particular and notice everything, having past experience managing in the food service industry at nice restaurants before. So, literally, I notice everything! I never would have set the bar so high upon assumptions... However, the waitress, Camilla, was honestly sensational! She basically had the entire place she was serving single handedly and did so seemingly with ease! She knew exactly how to prioritize her tables, if she made a trip, she checked all her tables, she never forgot anything asked of her, she was efficient, personable, pleasant, expedient, generous, and attentive! She ought to be working at a high ticket establishment because she's worth every dollar on the tips she receives and more! Finally, service you'd only imagine round here lately, excellence was her standard, and we tipped her around 90% because she earned it! Thank you for starting our evening off in the right direction! It was all uphill from there! If Sundance doesn't know how lucky they are to have Camilla on their team, I sure hope they will now! A raise ought to be in order, she's a...
Read moreMy wife and I have been frequenting this establishment once a week for the past month or so. The food has been good but the service leaves much to be desired. Tonight unfortunately takes the cake. We made a reservation for 6 30 and arrived on time and was promptly seated. We sat for 15 minutes before a server acknowledged us. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and my wife wanted a tuna fish sandwich with fries. She had ordered the exact meal two weeks before and was thrilled with what she received and that was the main reason we came back. The server told us that tuna sandwich was not on the menu and insisted that my wife had a tuna melt which is on the menu. After arguing with this server for two minutes he said he would check with the chef to see if we could be accommodated. In less than three minutes the server came back and told us chef would accommodate the order. In less than two minutes later the manager came or table to ask if everything was OK. We told her what was going on and she said she would check with the chef in less than two minutes minutes she returned to let us know that chef could not accommodate us because he was too busy. It would have been fine if we ordered tuna melt but he was to busy to prepare a tuna on white toast. Am I mistaken but aren't you in the service industry. My wife and I happen to be white senior citizens and I hate to say this but I believe if we were Philippino we would have been treated...
