I usually come here for all my fishing and outdoors stuff but never again. I walked in with my mother on Saturday July 29 in the afternoon and an older man wearing a light blue shirt, thin build, white hair that was balding was checking guns at a check in kept staring at me as I walked in. I happen to have a skin condition that I cannot be in direct sun light so I cover up with clothing. As I was getting a cart the same man who I assume was a manager, called out in front of everyone so they turned and looked at me “Do you have a gun?”. I asked what he said because I had never been called out like that before, he then asked again “Do you have a gun?” when I said no, he said “Well it doesn’t matter anyway.”. This was done in front of the entire store, people who I have had dozens of interactions with the past few months and all of them including the shoppers were all staring at me. Even my mother was completely embarrassed and wanted to leave. Tons of people go into that store that are shady at the very best all go looking to buy knives and guns, but I was singled out for what reason? Especially if by his own words “It didn’t matter anyway”. As I walked around the store the clients and workers were all staring at me. As if having my condition wasn’t enough, I was put on display for all to gawk at. At this point we just wanted to leave, but when we went to go exit out the nearest door, the greeter at the entrance told us we had to go all the way around, through the crowd and past customer service who were still staring and muttering to each other. I have never been treated so publicly poorly by a business who, obviously now only pretended to care about their clients.
When I come into the store around twice a week, especially when I am about to take a fishing trip. I drop at least 100 dollars a visit. I am now returning EVERYTHING I can back to the store and will never set foot in it again. I complained to customer service over the phone and was told they will call me to talk to me. Hasn’t happened nor do I think it will ever happen. 100 dollars a visit might be a drop in the bucket for Bass Pro, but its a days work for me. Its two tanks of gas. Its a shopping cart of food for my family that might last a week. From now on the 100 dollars I spend will be on that and never in their store again. There are plenty of other stores who want my cash and don’t treat me like a lunatic or brush me to the side. I will miss talking to Iggy and Scott as they were great at helping me with my fishing gear and even telling me decent spots to go fish, but its not worth going back. If you have special needs or...
Read moreBe ready to wait ages to just pick up a firearm. I had gone with my girlfriend who wanted to purchase her own firearm so she was extremely eager to go and pick it up when she got the call it was ready. The process of buying the firearm was easy as usual with the guy working the counter being extremely helpful finding her a firearm that best suited what she wanted. The next day she’s told the firearm is ready. However the process of picking up a firearm at this specific location is extremely disorganized. First off, usually at any other location or firearm shop I’ve been to they have a separate line/area for CCW and firearm pick ups because it’s a way quicker process since you are simply just picking up the weapon. However this location has you waiting in the queue with flocks of tourists from out of state and different countries that can’t even buy anything here in Nevada turning what’s supposed to be a 5-10 minute pick up process into waiting over an hour. We had plans that night so we ended up just leaving going back the next day to pick it up. What made this is issue for me isn’t the fact that we had to wait in the queue that would’ve been fine. The problem for me was the when we scanned the QR code for the line it said that there wasn’t any spots left. So I go up to one of the workers showing him that it wasn’t working while stating that my girlfriend was just here to simply pick up her firearm. He says okay and to meet him at the corner of the table which we do asks for her ID does what he has to do. Grabs the firearm that’s in the box in his hand but says it needs to be wrapped in the back. Okay I thought shouldn’t be too long. An hour later still waiting I ask another worker what’s taking so long with him rudely saying to wait. We were cutting time close so we just said screw it and left picking up the firearm the next day. Between the poor communication and their extremely unorganized pick up process I was truly disappointed which is a first for Bass Pro cause they are usually anything but in their firearms department. One worker even said they used to have a person designated specifically just for pick ups/CCW’s. It’s beyond me why they would stop that. I also feel really bad for the people who are actually there to buy but are also stuck waiting over an hour for window shoppers. Buying ammo and anything else at this location has been fast and easy but the next firearm purchase will be from a local business and not this...
Read moreOrdered a gun online and had it delivered to the store because they didn’t have it in stock and frankly weren’t all that interested in helping me get it. I got notified by email that it was ready for pickup do I drive the 3o minutes to get it. I was first in line and the gun counter clerk Robert called me up. Immediately I notice that he will NOT let me get a word out to tell him why I’m there. He literally interrupted me every time I tried to tell him I was there to pick up the gun and go the background. To be clear.. I was prepared. I have been through the process dozens of times. What should have been a 30 minute process at max, ended up being over an hour because he was too busy trying to appear important, better than thee and was overbearing and condescending. To say he was slow and incompetent is an understatement. Finally my son stepped in and Robert’s demeanor suddenly changed to be a little better.. not sure why he couldn’t just act right towards a woman and it took a man for him to suddenly remember his job description. Then we notice the shotgun was the wrong caliber. He accuses me of ordering the caliber that arrived and I had to prove to him that no, I ordered the 12 gauge not the 20. He literally leaves and doesn’t come back for 20 minutes. He finally arrives with his manager who clearly by the look on his face has had to deal with this situation with him before. I proceed to tell him all that happened and how embarrassing and demeaning it was. He did apologize but the whole thing was a huge waste of time and left me with zero confidence that Bass Pro actually cares about PAYING customers. Many of their gun counter clerks lack social skills, are super arrogant and know it all and I’ve shopped three different ones in three different states. As a result of these encounters we went to Spartan Arms in alas Vegas and purchased 2 weapons and all our ammo needs there. The difference between Bass Pro and the locally family owned armory was night and day. Don’t give this company your money. They clearly take customers...
