I rarely ever give below three stars. I think if a business gives half an effort they should meet average unless they just don't try.
I'm not sure where to start. I will take some of the blame not knowing what I was getting into as it was my first experience with fondue. I guess in translation fondue means do it yourself.
Nothing in their website, menu, or staff explained that other than soup and bread, there was nothing cooked by the restaurant. When we arrived we were seated and given bread and butter. Ordered a red wine and a cheese fondue. Wine came way too warm and the fondue too cold. OK, we worked through those issues and ordered. No one explained the process so here's what we got. Three plates of uncooked proteins with a bunch of dipping sauces which mostly tasted all like. They then brought out the pots to cook the food in and we had to wait for the oil and broth to heat up. I assume, never explained the process to us, so its our ignorance I guess, but you put all the different proteins in the pots and wait for it to cook, then fish them out with a single skewer and dip the pieces in the sauce.
They waited too long to heat up the oils, broth, and cheese. I imagine cooking, chicken, seafood, steak, and meatballs, all in the the same pot at the same time would make for some interesting tastes but after each of us had a few raw bites of food we were done.
Our server was completely clueless and didn't seem to care to offer help or suggestions. Paid the $250 bill for four people and had to find a restaurant that actually cooks food. It's a bit of a gimmick type of restaurant and way over priced for them giving you plain proteins to cook for yourself without any directions on how to do so.
Would have given them a three star if they would clearly let you know what you are getting into as the restaurant was fairly clean and the staff was...

Later two other couples showed up and they stacked them right next to us. The background music selection was a mix of motown 50-60s with an accidental 90s tune thrown in every once in a while just to confuse you. The service was nothing special which is strange considering how few people were in the restaurant. We ordered the fondue for two. Paying to cook your own food is already a little strange but then sitting there with our smartphones running timers also seemed a little much. They do claim to have a full bar but when I took a drink of the whiskey sour I ordered I decided it was best to switch to wine. There was far too little food, the pots were too small to have multiple people dipping items in and for that matter trying to take items out without deforking other things still cooking. In the end we went back to the hotel and I ordered room service. If you have ever been to The Melting Pot chain this restaurant is not even close especially considering the price...
