Where to begin… 1. I did not receive what I ordered. I ordered a sushi roll, but because everyone else at the table was ordering hibachi, they didn’t want to make me a roll - although it’s a major part of their menu. 2. The wait staff actually TOLD me I had to order hibachi, the same as everyone else. I was not given a choice (I genuinely wish I was making this up) 3. They got multiple orders incorrect at our table, we had 8 in our party, same as at least one other table in the restaurant at the time. It wasn’t like we were out of the ordinary for them. 4. We waited over THIRTY MINUTES from the time we were seated until we received our drinks. Wait staff was unorganized to say the least 5. They did NOT offer to comp ANYTHING at the table. They even went so far as to automatically include a near 20% gratuity on top, which I get it, it’s a large table, but we were already supremely disappointed with the level of food and service. It was kind of a slap in the face because… 5. The food was incredibly underwhelming. Rock hard fried rice, undercooked wontons, overpowering garlic on nearly everything - the list genuinely goes on. TL;DR: Do not spend your money here. Go to literally any other offering in the area and save the hassle.

First time dining out with table service, in months. This was a special occasion and the service was wonderful but a bit difficult due to wearing masks. Hand sanitizer was available as you walk in the door. Smells like old cooking oil, and A LOT of oil is used in everything. I would have appreciated some healthy options on the menu. I ordered tempura vegetables...soaked and dripping in oil, I peeled off all the batter. Steamed veggies would have been excellent. The side salad, being just typical, was the freshest item on the menu, so I ordered 2! Then, the cap on the pepper shaker fell into my salad as well as half the pepper. Overall, the food was mediocre at best. Service was good. Fun watching the chef cook our dinners. But, our group enjoyed visiting and spending time together. I wouldn’t go back.

Ohjah Japanese Restaurant is a solid choice for a good Japanese meal in Las Vegas. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, and the service is attentive without being overbearing. We didn’t have to wait long, and the staff made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. We tried the hibachi and some sushi rolls—both were fresh and satisfying. The hibachi chef was entertaining and skilled, and the food was cooked just right. The steak was tender, and the shrimp had great texture. The sushi rolls weren’t overly fancy but were fresh and nicely presented. While it might not be the absolute best Japanese restaurant in town, it’s definitely a place I’d return to and recommend to others. Good food, fair prices, and an overall enjoyable experience.

Ohjah Pahrump is the best and only Japanese Restaurant in Pahrump, but one to which I shall not return.

We had 3 families meet there for dinner on 12/16/21 and the tepanyaki dinner was fabulous. The sushi was mediocre, though. We gave our chef a cash tip and I noticed there was an 18% add-on charge for groups of 6 or more on the bill. As we weren't a group, I lined out the add-on tip on the bill and went to pay the bill. The bill stated for two persons. The waitress PK, said I had to pay the add-on charge of 18% and I said I already gave a tip to the chef and i wasn't paying double tips. i said if I paid the entire bill for everyone i would have paid the add-on amount. Things escalated as the waitress refused to give me my charge card back, even when my wife said she would pay the whole bill in cash. I told her it was against the law, to not return my valid credit card. Another employee tried to calm things and called the boss, who said to call the sheriff. The sheriff was helpful in calming down the situation and listened to everyones' sides of the story. We ended up deciding to pay our whole bill and to dispute the extra charge with the credit card company and let others know of this unfortunate policy and the inflexibility of this establishment and wait staff.

So don't go there and meet with 6 or more people or you could end up as we did, paying two tips and having them waste a half our of our and the...

This place used to be fantastic. I have no clue what happened. Made reservations for 7:00, got seated at 7:15. I understand that's fair, they were a little busy. At our hibachi table there were 3 parties of 2 and my party of totally equaling 10 people. The table behind us that got seated after us 10 already had their chef before we even made our drink orders. Like I said we were seated at 7:15, we finally got to place our drink orders at 7:50, our soup and salad at 8:05, and our chef got there at 8:30. On top of taking over an hour to get to us. The chef showed zero effort in trying to be entertaining. He you could see all his face he did not want to be there. Most of the food was very bland and the rice was burnt. On top of the bad food service drink service and whatnot. When we finally paid our bill they had charged us the gratuity of a party of 10 even though be in my family were simply a party of four and had never met the other three groups of two in our lives. We love this restaurant chain unfortunately I do not think we will ever be using this location again. I have been going to this restaurant chain since it opened its location in pahrump and have used many other locations in Vegas. It's pretty sad but I think next time we decide we want ohjah, we're going to have to drive all the way to Vegas...

If you want a TERRIBLE experience, let me recommend this place. We, party of 4 (locals) went here for my friends Birthday lunch. Hibachi room was closed. Water Fountain drained/empty, with dry mineral flaking scale exposed. Menu items were made without said ingredients..that were missing. We were told by the server that they stopped ordering tomatoes, cucumbers & asparagus. (main ingredient in listed Veggie Rolls). We noticed the asparagus was missing about ½ through the sushi roll, and they charged us full price, even when we asked them to take it away. Egg Rolls are frozen, then quick fried with mushy, unidentifiable ingredients. The Birthday Girl was shorted on her Plum wine pour and the wine tasted OLD The Salmon Nigiri was soft and had an odor to it. At this point, we asked the older male server to get us a Manager. He was very rude and told us the Owner, Michael would NOT come out to speak to us, and also with a straight face, he told us in his angry English..and I do quote: "IF YOU DON'T LIKE, YOU DON'T COME BACK, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE". It was absolutely horrific. Shocking to hear that from a server. We will definitely take him up on his recommendation. They just lost 4 customers, all in one sitting. What a joke...not even worth 1 star. ~Shame on the...
