Original Tommy's — Restaurant in Nevada

Growing up in SoCal around the corner from a Tommy’s location pretty much sealed my fate. I love this place! For me, it’s comfort food that reaches the deepest part of my soul. I usually stop at this location when I’m passing through or staying in Vegas. The food has always been good here, as good as any location in SoCal. I usually come in the morning so that I can get my go to Tommy’s breakfast sandwich and chili cheese fries with tomato pickle and onion on top. The breakfast sandwich is one of the wonders of the industrial age. Just the combination of Tommy’s chili, cheese, sausage, and a fried egg is sublime, but that’s not all. They pair that combo with pickle, onion, tomato, and mayo, and then wrap it all in an English muffin-it’s pure umami Nirvana! The chili cheeseburgers and chili cheese dogs here are the best I’ve ever had. I usually don’t have space for them though. I reserve filling in the nooks and crannies of what’s left in my stomach for Tommy’s chili cheese fries. If you like chili cheese fries you need to try Tommy’s version. Again, they are the best! (in my unbiased opinion, of course) Personally, I think they’re even better than the best if you add tomato, pickle and onion on top. And by the way, the tomatoes at Tommy’s are amazing! You’ve never had tomatoes this good at a burger joint. For the uninitiated, it’s best if you wash down Tommy’s with Mountain Dew, or if you’re like me, Diet Mountain Dew. If you haven’t been to a Tommy’s before you need to make the pilgrimage and put your faith to the test. I am confident that once you do, you’ll kneel at the Altar of Koulax and pledge your undying devotion just like I have.

Good but not as I remember. Having grown up going to the original Tommy’s in LA I am a little biased. I felt the quality wasn’t 100% there. The meal I had here was less generous with their portions. I’m not trying to overeat but when you cut back on the more expensive ingredients like protein, it changes the balance of flavor and consistency. These things can’t be disguised to everyone. I’m sure some analyst firm came in and did a study on differently made items and found that most people couldn’t tell the difference between a hamburger with a 1/4 lbs patty or a 3/16 lbs. I’m sure they also found that that 1/16 of meat they were shaving off would net them so many hundreds of thousands of dollars every year and because no one could tell, there wouldn’t be any negative consequences. Well I’m here to tell you that some people can tell the difference and if you are going to cut back on your ingredients or make the portions smaller then you should lower the prices, not increase them. OVERALL the food was okay but if you, Tommy’s, continue down this path, don’t expect to be around for another...

Just tried food from here for the first time, and it's absolutely disgusting! I got the triple chili cheeseburger with chili cheese fries. The chili is made cheap like the 7 11 chili that you press the button to put it on your nachos. It's like sauce, not chili. The burger meat has no flavor, & the patties are so thin. It's hard to mess up a burger & I usually don't even let food go to waste even if it's not that good, but this food is horrible. & I only ate 3 fries cuz the nasty chili is all over it. I called them to let them know I want a refund because the food is nasty & a horrible first experience, but they said I have to wait til tomorrow for the manager to call me & see what she wants to do, & they said for me to bring the uneaten food back tomorrow.. are you kidding me? You think I'm about to hold onto this disgusting food til tomorrow, & my refund doesn't even sound promising? Do not waste your money here! I paid over $16 for this combo & just about every other fast-food burger joint is much better & much cheaper. Absolutely...
