The Sourdough Cafe has both good food and pretty good bang for your buck as well. I recently ate here on three occasions while staying at Arizona Charlie's a for almost a week. The tucked away second floor restaurant is casual and only had a few other patrons seated each time I walked in. The nice part about that is that there was never a wait to be seated. The servers and front desk staff were nice and the service was fairly quick as well.
My first meal was a sourdough tuna melt, with a side of french fries. I have to say I am a big tuna fan, and this was easily one of the best tuna melts I've ever had. It had heaping amounts of a really good tuna mix and I swapped out the American cheese that it comes with in favor of some cheddar. It also had several slices of juicy tomato and some romaine lettuce. The french fries were your normal Cafe fare but good nonetheless. The plate also comes with a pickle spear for good measure. I'd 100% order it again, and possibility even make a trip just to have it for lunch again.
I also had their breakfast special called The Farmhouse Breakfast. This was your classic bacon or sausage, two eggs anyway you like and hash browns breakfast plate. Everything was cooked as requested, and you really can't beat the $4 cost. Everything on the plate was very satisfying and you really can't ask for anymore with a quick cheap bite.
My third meal at the Sourdough Cafe was a cheeseburger. This is another value item as the plate is only five bucks. The burger patty was a good size, and the lettuce, tomato and onion were all fresh and plentiful on top. It compared favorably to a lot of good cheeseburgers I've had a cafes and other restaurants over the years. For a restaurant style cheeseburger it was really pretty tasty if not especially noteworthy overall. For quality and price it was certainly better than any fast food place and a good few other places that I've had burgers before.
All in all I found the Sourdough Cafe to actually be a pretty good little restaurant. I'd eat here again whether I was staying at the hotel or not if I happen to be in that neck of the woods again. For one last tip I'd say it's also worth grabbing the casino players 'Ace' card if you plan on eating here because then you get a 10% discount in the...
Read moreThe sourdough cafe used to be one of the best places in Las Vegas. Low prices, delicious food and excellent customer service. They got bought out and everything went downhill. The menu was changed, the prices went up and food quality is a lot lower than it was and customer service is disappointingly terrible. It seems that even the employees that have been there for YEARS Don’t care anymore because the customer service has gone So far down. There’s a handful of employees who’s customer service is still excellent like the morning waitress Angela (Angie). She’s the type of person that makes this place worth coming to Just for the service.
Unfortunately the service from the other staff members is what is going to make us not come back. We came in one night and our server was RUDE and focused on other things other than serving tables. But what really ended things for me was the fact that I went in for breakfast this morning and I WAS SCOLDED by the hostesses on where the wait line was. I’ve been coming to this place for years, I know where the line is. Just like I also know that I can just walk up to the doorway if the lines are empty (which they are a lot of the times), and just like I know that if I stand in the line when there is no one there, they don’t see the customer and we have to wait forever to be seated.
Anyways, I hope management steps in and does something about the poor service at least. Angie and the handful of staff members who still provide exceptional service are the only thing that stopped this from being a 1 star review. If you come here it’s only worth coming in the mornings and ask for Angie. Other than that don’t waste your time and money on Poor service. ANGIE...
Read moreIf I could give it 0 stars I would. Got everyone's meal except for one. When we asked the waitress about the meal she argues with us and says she already brought it. She tells us 3 times that she already brought it before she decides to go and put the order in for the burger she never brought. By the time the burger arrives everyone else was just about done with their meals. The waitress doesn't even apologize for the mix up. When the bill comes we speak with the manager about our experience and she agrees to give us a discount but states she needs to do an investigation to see if this all actually happened as we say it happened. She, too, does not apologize for our experience. We give the waitress a cash tip and pay the bill. As we are walking out we take one last look at the bill and notice that there was already gratuity added to our bill which no one disclosed to us. And the waitress took our cash tip knowing she would also be getting the tip that was added to the bill. We go back and the manager argues with us about the discount that was given and states that we agreed to pay the amount on the ticket. The waitress then walks over and asks if we want our cash tip back. Well, of course!!! If you do decide to eat here check your bill before tipping and make sure they didn't do it for...
