Tucked away in the southwest reaches of Las Vegas, Vitos Tacos is an unassuming gem that belies its extraordinary culinary prowess. My recent luncheon experience there was nothing short of sublime—a masterful celebration of Mexican street fare rendered with an artisanal finesse that elevates every bite.
I began my repast with the 3 Queso Tacos Combo, an assemblage of perfectly crafted queso tacos crowned with a delicate scattering of onion and cilantro. Each taco was a study in balance: the queso lent a creamy, tangy richness that interplayed exquisitely with the freshness of the garnishes, while the accompanying sides—a comforting portion of rice and a generous helping of beans, artfully adorned with melted mozzarella—served as the ideal counterpoint to the tacos’ intensity. A simple fountain drink provided a refreshing, effervescent interlude between bites, harmonizing the ensemble with understated elegance.
Compelled by culinary curiosity, I also indulged in the Quesadilla—available in a choice of slow-cooked beef or chicken—ensconced within a tender, golden flour tortilla and layered with mozzarella, onions, and cilantro. This dish transcended the ordinary, its flavor profile both robust and delicately nuanced, and it left an indelible impression on my palate.
While I did forgo the restaurant’s famed birria tacos—an omission dictated solely by the constraints of my appetite—the dishes I sampled affirmed Vitos Tacos as a veritable five-star establishment in the realm of Mexican cuisine. Its innovative reinterpretation of traditional recipes, combined with an impeccable attention to detail, marks it as a culinary destination worthy of both admiration and...
Read moreThere are a lot of different local and national places for tacos in Las Vegas. I truly believe I found the best one. Vito's Tacos - the one I'm reviewing is on Ft. Apache. I love their chicken soft tacos SO MUCH I went two days in a row. I ordered them both times with cheese. They came with a slice of lime, spicy red sauce, and mild green sauce. There are other things to try on their menu that I will sample in the near future. Inside the taco was the juiciest, best tasting birria chicken I've had, combined with diced onion, cilantro, and flavorful spices. When you eat it, the juice drips out the other end. Each taco had a generous amount of chicken and fillings. I said yes to cheese on both. All of their menu items are extremely reasonably priced. You order from the counter and your order is called when it's ready. I absolutely love these tacos. On Taco Tuesdays, beef tacos are buy one get one free. This location is located in a shopping center next to a large Dollar Tree. Plenty of free parking. Really nice inside. Modern. Sleek shiny black walls, floors, tables, and their really cool yellow neon outline of a taco with a drip at one end all over one wall. They have a large screen television that every table is able to see. Very friendly staff at the counter and in the kitchen. Everything is kept extremely clean. They have a very busy to-go business as well. They also are very quick with your order. There are a couple of other locations. This is a locally owned place. I just moved into this neighborhood and this has already become a top 3...
Read moreI visited Vitos Tacos because it was close to where I was doing some business and I saw that they had a 4.5 rating … oh and I love tacos.
I found that the menu was limited but what they did have is not your typical fast food ground burger tacos. A little expensive at $3.79 for either a small chicken birria or a beef birria taco. If you want cheese on it, it turns it into a Queso Taco for an additional $.70 each. Then after getting charged extra for the cheese, they never added it to my tacos, nor did they offer to refund the difference.
The Birria here is straight from Grandma’s original recipe. Grandma lives in Jalisco, Mexico which is where birria anything got its name. Traditionally birria is made using goat meat but not everyone likes that so most places including Vitos make it from scratch using beef. They slow cook their beef and chicken break it down by hand and finish it up in the birria sauce. Be careful if you order the chicken birria. They have a warning on their menu that you may find an occasional small bone.
The flavor is good with only a slight bitter after taste which some people use a little cinnamon which would solve the bitter after taste, but they choose not to here.
The seating and cooking area are mostly clean and family friendly. I didn’t notice anything on the menu (including the fries or nachos) that was vegan. Except the sodas, water, and paletas (ice cream popsicle).
Easy parking and...
