I cannot praise the owner, Jesse, and his incredible establishment enough! It was my father's 89th birthday on Dec 20th. We were determined to make it a celebration to remember. His one wish was to indulge in authentic New England fried clam bellies, a delicacy that has been elusive to us since he moved to California 15 years ago. We had tried countless seafood restaurants in the area, but none could replicate the traditional New England flavor. Additionally, The favorite establishments back on the East Coast could not get past the hurdle and challenge of shipping fried clams without compromising their taste.
The Cove Surf and Turf claimed to be able to ship their mouthwatering fried clams and ensure they arrived tasting absolutely incredible.
When I placed my order online for 2 pounds of fried clam bellies, I mistakenly overlooked a 25% off shipping discount that had expired prior to my purchase. Despite the shipping cost not being exorbitant, I decided to reach out to Jesse via email, politely requesting a $20 credit. To my surprise, Jesse responded promptly, even in the middle of the night, acknowledging my mistake and pointing out that the promo had expired a week ago. However, without hesitation, he had already taken the initiative to refund the amount to my credit card. I was truly impressed by his attentiveness and commitment to customer satisfaction.
In my reply, I expressed my gratitude to Jesse and shared that this order was a special birthday present for my father's 89th celebration. Jesse, going above and beyond, decided to elevate the experience even further. He upgraded the shipping to overnight early morning direct, at no additional charge, to ensure the clams arrived in time for my father's birthday weekend. Jesse also sent a heartfelt email for me to forward to my father, expressing his warm wishes for a joyous birthday celebration. This level of communication and understanding of the significance of celebrating 89 years with a parent deeply touched my heart. It was evident that Jesse is a business owner who values customer satisfaction and knows how to make each customer feel truly special.
The pride and dedication Jesse has for his craft are unparalleled. In a time when these qualities seem to be fading away, Jesse and the Cove Surf and Turf restaurant have mastered the art of making customers feel valued. They have reignited the spirit of going the extra mile, being considerate, and taking pride in their business. It is a testament to the exceptional service and care they provide.
Now, let me share with you my father's reaction to the long-awaited fried clams. I received a text message from him last night after he received the package:
"They arrived at 9:40 pm. We were downstairs watching television when I decided to check the tracking. I saw that they had been delivered. The packaging was impeccable, and I followed the included instructions to re-heat them, using our air fryer. These fried clams are the best I have ever had!! Delicious! Thank you son for the best birthday present I've ever received!"
The fact that the restaurant can maintain such exceptional quality and send them across the country without compromising their taste, just a few days before Christmas with all the craziness of the Mail system going on, is almost like a Christmas miracle itself!
I cannot recommend the Cove Surf and Turf restaurant enough. Jesse's commitment to customer satisfaction, his ability to make each customer feel special, and the outstanding quality of their fried clams are truly exceptional. Thank you Cove surf and turf restaurant for bringing such a great happiness to my dad on his...
Read moreFirst I need to say I’m used to paper menus, not online. So when I try to order out I’m told to go look at menu online because that’s the most updated one. So I knew we we going out to eat and my friend was dying for fried clams. So I googled fried clams in nearby Massachusetts. The cove came up. I looked at the menu online and low and behold there was a picture showing fried clams! And I wanted a lobster sandwich which was also on the menu and the price was $29.95 or close to that. So we come from warren RI and decided we were going to go fill out taste buds with food we were craving. So we get seated. Waitress extremely nice and I don’t see fried clams on the menu. I ask her, and she says oh I’m sorry we don’t carry that. WAIT! WHAT??? That’s the ONLY reason we came here!!! She made an excuse something like the menu online wasn’t updated etc. WHY?? Who’s in charge of this?? That’s the INLY way we can see what is in your menu!! Then I see lobster sandwich is MARKET PRICE, so I ask the price, and she tells me $38,00!! I open my phone, and show her the fried clams they offer but don’t have, AND the lobster sandwich advertised for $29.95!!! All she says is I’ll mention it to the manager!! I should have asked for the manager right then and there, but didn’t want to cause a scene! So my friend ended up getting stuffed fish of some sort stuffed with all kinds of shell fish ground into baby food. So who really knows what was in there. And I got fish and chips. The portion was big, and it was good but it’s not what I felt like eating! I got full very fast because I was eating something I didn’t want. Has that ever happened to you? Forcing yourself to eat something you weren’t prepared for? I really felt bad for my friend because that’s the ONLY reason we went there. Cost us almost $100 for food we didn’t feel like eating. So before you think the online menu is correct, give the joint a call and ask if they have what your looking for on the menu. Then go elsewhere...
