Willow Tree Restaurant — Restaurant in New Bedford

My husband and I popped into this breakfast place, not sure if we should grab a table or wait to be seated. This lady, looking pretty annoyed, just pointed to a table, so we figured that was our cue. As we sat down, our waiter swung by to take our drink order. But when he brought them back, he plonked them down so aggressively that juice spilled all over, even “soaking” our phones. He didn't even say sorry or anything, just moved on to the next table. It's pretty shocking, honestly. I used to wait tables myself, and even on crazy busy days, you gotta keep it together. Plus, most other guests were already sorted out, so there's really no excuse for such behavior. It’s so unfortunate that as a black couple we still have to experience this type of treatment. We just upped and left.

The worse decision to make was to order a steak & cheese omelette last Friday - they use steak-umms sliced frozen steak… which is crazy coming from a Portuguese restaurant to use… it’s disrespectful & just a cheap way to make money - atleast make it have flavor & let your customers know what fake steak your selling them too. I know what steak umms taste like from growing up poor & I was so disappointed - will never go there again & wont recommend this place to anyone either. I won’t be lazy anymore after this breakfast disappointment - I’ll make my own breakfast at home 100x better; not even my dog wanted to eat the fake steak I brought home… I don’t like to waste but this had to be wasted unfortunately. Ordered a Spanish omelette for takeout took a couple bites and it tasted off. Cut open the food and come to find out the entire bottom layer of egg is grey. Go back for a refund and explanation and the server (who is busy listening to her airpod) didn't even want me to open the container. Trying to rush the food into the kitchen without even looking at it. Entire staff goes into the back to see what's going on and their explanation was the egg was grey from "the juices from the peppers". L O L. I've been eating eggs and green bell peppers my entire life and have never seen that once. I got my refund but also got scolded for saying "what the f is that" to the server.
