This restaurant is a family favorite, where you’ll find authentic Portuguese cuisine and excellent service.
Located a short drive from the historic Fort Taber Park. Lots of parking and includes a ramp at the entrance for anyone with extra mobility needs. Inside the layout is also accommodating to anyone needing some extra space.
You can’t go wrong with the food. It’s fresh every time we’ve been here. I’m going to recommend seafood if you’re new to Portuguese cuisine. I personally always order the grilled octopus. It’s the best I’ve had!
Prices are inline with other establishments of this caliber. It’s always clean and I know there’s entertainment on the outdoor balcony over the summer.
I would imagine they are LGBTQ friendly. I had no reason to think otherwise. Definitely friendly for couples and seniors. Kids will do fine here, but it’s more for adults.
If you’re ever in New Bedford, I highly recommend eating here then going for a walk down the street at Fort Taber. It’s a gorgeous part...
Read moreHonestly I hate posting these as I am in the business, and like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. But, we came for dinner last night and it was atrocious from beginning to end (minus the drinks). Started out with the seafood stew and there was one flake, and I’m not exaggerating, one flake of white fish and maybe 12 pieces of orzo in the bowl portion. The waitress was very kind and asked if I would like the other kale soup. I agreed and it came out promptly, only to have tasted like it had been cooked for three days and sat for three more, also no flavor whatsoever. Our main courses arrived shortly after ( steak special and the octopus) the steak rice and fries were cold and the steak was well past well done being almost inedible. The octopus was drenched in oil and the peppers onions and octopus tasted like nothing but charred. Portions of the octopus were inedible due to being over cooked and parts were undercooked and slimy. The server was attentive and pleasant, but overworked as there was only one and she had 12 tables going at once so we didn’t say anything to further burden her night. Luckily we got a free gift card previously that paid for the meal, but if your about to spend your hard earned money I would look for an...
Read moreWent to a function there and was surprisingly disappointed in a few things, I am not one to complain but just had too. 2 woman served this function one older woman and one younger one, the older woman did not have the greatest customer service skills, I felt she was rude and seemed overwhelmed, the younger one was fine even though I asked if they could put lights on the upstairs outdoor part and she said they couldn't due to stacks of chairs blocking the light switch, even though that part was open for people to enjoy sitting outside but I tripped cause I could not see because it was nighttime. The food and ALL of it was very bland hardly and flavor no salt. There was kale soup, fish, rice, roasted chicken, beef, roasted potatoes, vegetables and kids had chicken tenders and French fries, which my son said no flavor and dry. The worst part was the roasted chicken that someone got was completely undercooked, it was bloody and very pink to say the least. I would just say that I would be extremely disappointed if I paid all that money for a function and getting served this food and not treated decent. Wish I took a picture of the chicken before they took it...
