I’ve come here every once in awhile for the past year and I love the food and cool special drinks. It’s a nice place to hang around with friends or just to sit and have a nice breakfast. However the past few times I’ve come, the woman with blondish hair behind the counter hasn’t been the most friendly. For me personally, it’s whatever I’m just here to get my stuff, but I’ve witnessed how she’s also treated other customers. I agree with the other reviewer, I saw her be really rude to someone once when he had asked if his food had been called as at that time, it was busy and kinda noisy.
The tone of voice she uses can also sound very standoffish, which is also reinforced by her body language (no eye contact) which again, not something I care too much about personally but as oh there have said, isn’t the most “customer service” friendly.
I don’t know her background so I don’t want to judge but I have seen quite a few people get angry or give each other awkward stares when she talks to customers at the counter.
The most recent time I went, before I come up to the counter, she turns away from me, with no eye contact, and says “give me a second” while she helps out her coworker with making the orders. Which is fine with me, but the way she did it, I can see how it may frustrate people. Yes, it was busy, so obviously she was going to help her coworker. Finally, when she came back for my order, I asked about the the cruffin “special” flavor and she very bluntly told me there were no cruffins today and that everything they had was in the display case. Some of them were labeled others were not. I had to verbally prompt her to tell me what they were. She then said “I’ll give you a second to choose” and walks away when I already had an alternative in mind and she makes some more sandwiches for about 3-5 minutes.
I get that maybe she feel overwhelmed with how busy it is and that there are only 2 people on staff, but I think you can see how this may be very off putting for some customers. I get it. I worked in a restaurant type setting like this before so I know how customers react to certain mannerisms and tones of voice. But I like this place. However whenever I come here with a friend of mine, she always hopes the person behind the counter isn’t this woman with blond hair. I saw that the owner replied to another post asking about the time of day etc. so I’ll include it in mine. This was Tuesday morning...
Read moreI really really love their espresso and the baked goods are always fire. I especially reccomend the liquiça rolls!!
*Im giving only 3 stars because my partner and I visit often but have found the mocha (and other drinks) are way too sweet that it overpowers that truly remarkable espresso. We ask everytime to have them made way less sweet, but Id say only 1/5 times do the staff actually do this. We have even tried asking many different ways, with no luck, always the same over-doing of sweet syrup!
My other gripe is that the bar stools by the window are uncomfortable. That leaves only 3 other spots to sit, all of which are clearly made for groups of 4+ so not great for 1 or 2 people. Not a problem in the summer when outdoor seating is available but it sucks in the winter.
**Edited my review and added a star because they do make the effort to correct things! Just ask if theres an issue with your drink. Really reccomend this place for...
Read moreI am an avid coffee lover & this is single-handedly the best coffee shop I have ever been to. I’m sure I’ve been to a few places with even more flavor options (there are PLENTY here).. the atmosphere in here is unmatched, especially the staff make it wonderful- they’re both personable & super kind. there’s a charging station by the window so you can do work or charge your phone, and they have HONEY AND OATMILK (plus a bit more) in the area you go to customize your coffee. Not to mention, the price foe what you’re getting is great. A cold brew here is maybe .50-75¢ more than dunkin donuts? $4-5 for coffee that often comes in at $6-7 is amazing. The orange pistachio cake is a bit of an acquired taste, but if you’re feeling bold I’d say it was fun to try. I can’t recommend this place...
