Pub 6T5 Bar and Grille — Restaurant in New Bedford

to start off we should’ve walked away after the first two doors. kitchen staff rude ! and can definitely attest to the food being tarnished considering I witnessed a young punk walk out of the kitchen from the back , with these massive headphones , looked right at us as we’re walking in blows smoke in our faces then rips both doors open nearly hitting us in the face and then goes back to cooking after touching dirty things out back a vape and then doesn’t wash his hands !!ewww . not sure how many unsanitary things he touched but it was a lot , As an employee walking into the establishment in front of us had this place been something to come back to he would’ve held the door for us however did not rather as I stated blew smoke in our faces and almost intentionally I’d say tried to swing the doors so hard to hit me in the face for some odd reason very odd. I told the front desk about his rude disgusting behavior and nothing , they replied with oh that’s little Jon or something:/ ok….. later that night I see him walk by us to the bathroom in the restaurant with the same massive headphones on :/ goes into the bathroom definitely not long enough to wash his hands not properly anyway ,and then back to cooking people’s food in the kitchen EWWW.

So the night goes on there’s 4 of us , and initially we can talk as if we’re in a pub right then the band starts :/ Wayyyyyyy to loud I’m sitting 1 foot from the people I’m with and can not hear them even yelling ? Literally the parents of this so called band had EAR PLUGS, in a pub. Not a club but a pub.

The owner / owners eventually walk up after reading my review on here , then one of them comes to the table and says sorry for everything I went ahead and took care of all the drinks. I said all of them ? Really you didn’t need to do that but thank you. 20 mins later we get the bill 2 drinks taken off the bill :/ We were literally lied to by an owner. Of a pub rather should be called Pub 6T DIVE VERSES 5.

Unfortunately this place is living off the backs of the previous owners ,which isn’t an opinion it’s a fact ! The majority of the good reviews are literally from the previous ownership, if you look at the reviews dating back 4 years this place would be maybe 2.5 stars meaning 50 percent of the people who go here are dissatisfied, probably more considering not everyone leaves a review . Considering Friday night at 1/3 capacity I’d say that’s accurate Previous owners were great and place was staffed WITH MUCH BETTER EMPLOYEES.

These employees are rude , food has gone down hill, and owners as well.

Wish I could say we’d be back but after last night...

I just absolutely adore this restaurant. We went on a random Wednesday night toward the middle of June. They had musical bingo inside which seemed so fun. However, my partner and I chose to sit outside because the weather was beautiful. Shockingly, we were the only ones out there. They turned on the beautiful Edison bulbs under the canopy for us. The staff was VERY attentive, in the best way. They gave us our private time while checking in on us everytime we needed it. We loved our server. I feel terrible I can’t remember her name. I think it was Brit maybe. She was delightful. Upon a completely normal mistake—we were double charged for a pizza. (A delicious and spectacular pizza called the pig and fig! I even offered for them to make me another, but also expressed I understood if the kitchen was closed and it was bc we were there very late) They of course started the refund process. A partial owner, a cook, our server, and another very attentive woman came out to greet us and make it right while they were in the midst of a closing rush.Very kind and sociable—all of them. The food here is DELICIOUS. The best I’ve had in New Bedford—and I’ve been around! And SO reasonably priced for the amazing quality. They fulfilled my request to have both fried shrimp and cod with chips/fries. Beautifully seasoned and battered. It was stellar! Filled to the brim with shrimp and a huge piece of cod for $32!!! I thought it was amazing. Especially because I’ve seen much skimpier fried seafood plates in the area. I WILL be back for the pizza and the fish and shrimp platter. And I can’t wait to try more! I’ve had their Mac and cheese and pork nachos in the past and they were both amazing as well. The cookie skillet was DELICIOUS. I will have to try every dessert. Drinks are strong and balanced as well. Definitely a well crafted menu all around. Just a great experience every time. Time and time again I will be back! Update for 2024: Been back a few times and the food and service has been great. My original review was probably just a hiccup.

2020: Came here for the first time with my elderly mom on a Sunday for a late lunch. We parked in a handicap spot near the front entrance and walked up the handicap ramp and into the front door.

We walked into an beautiful empty dining room. There were a few folks at the bar and a few bartenders but no host to be seen. The bartenders didn’t pay much attention to us standing there waiting, so after a few minutes of waiting I approached the bar to ask if we needed to sit ourselves. My mom has a hard time walking and standing and I was frustrated that the handicap parking spots and entrance are at the front of the building, but when you walk in there’s no where for people to sit while they wait.

The bartender was very friendly, but she literally said “we really don’t pay attention to the front door.” So apparently there is a back entrance, which we didn’t know since it was our first time. So what about handicap customers?

After we sat ourselves in the empty dining room a server came over and brought bread with olive oil + Parmesan, which was good, but the mixture had an extreme amount of pepper. Mom ordered fish and chips and I ordered the chicken salad wrap which was on the menu.

After a fairly short wait he delivered the food, but my order was wrong - he brought a buffalo chicken wrap over. No big deal, but I sent it back. The replacement took a little while to come out, and honestly I should have kept the buff chic. The “chicken salad” wrap I got was literally just a flour tortilla with grilled chicken, mayo, and iceberg lettuce. Super bland. The fries were good though.
