Do not work for this establishment! They treat the employees horribly. The two cooks they have employeed work 6 days a week from 10 am till closing every single day. They refuse to hire a decent amount of servers most likely because no one wants to be employeed there for more than a week. They do tip sharing all the cash tips go into a jar and the credit card tips are split at the end of the night after the owner or manger working that day take there own percentage out. The owner is extremely verbally abusive. He will tell you if you look ugly. He will insult your wardrobe, your hairstyle, your shoes, pants, shirts, coats anything he can possibly insult he will. The insults are not made in private they are stated infront of the whole entire staff. They are horrible at creating the schedule it is constantly last minute. They will call you in at the drop of a dime and if you can't make it to the shift that you are called into the owner verbally harass you to the point of you being in tears. Woman servers are treated like trash. Perio ( the owrnr) has made the 17 year old female hostess cry on multiple occasions. He disrespects his wife infornt of the staff by calling her stupid and various other horrible names. I'm sure behind closed doors he puts his hands on her but that is her business. He will expect you to wait on him and his children and wife when they eat with no tip or anything. He charges his employees for there meals all they receive is a 50 percent discount only if they eat the food at the restaurant if they want to take the food home they have to pay full price. Once I was no longer employeed there I had to contact them for over a month to recivce my last paycheck once they anwsered the phone and I said my name they would hang up. While employeed there I cut my hair. Perio aksed me if I cut my hair by myself because it looked horrible (his exact words). I also dyed my hair while employeed there he also told me that looked horrible and when his wife and the other manager did not agree they said it was because they were stupid. He also said the day time manager Jim only said my hair looked good when I dyed it because he is not a real man and can't be honest with someone. I was accused multiple times of stealing $20.00 dollars out of the till. When I asked to see the video of me stealing he refused because he knew it never happened. All in all it is a horrible establishment to be employeed for. Perio also constantly brags about how wealthy him and his family is. I was terminated after being ten minutes late for the morning shift. I showed up at 10:45 before they were even open and was told by Perio's wife to just go home for the day and before coming in for my next shift to contact Jim the day time manger. When I contacted Jim he informed me I was terminated. This all happened a week before Christmas and they know that I have two children and one of the childrens birthday is on Christmas Eve. It is just a horrible place to be employeed at and the owner is a monster of a person who puts on an amazing front for all the customers. The only postive thing about being employeed there is the day time manger Jim who is the kindest person I have ever had the privilege of working for. The cooks are also extremely kind people. The food although is mediocre at best considering how over priced it is. $13.00 for a plate a spaghetti is ridiculous. Perio also sells his Lacasetta wine for $23.00 dollars a bottle when he purchases them for $7.50 a bottle. I know you have to upsell to make money but that is kind of ridiculous. All of the desserts are pre-ordered frozen. When they had one of there "exclusive" wine dinners I showed up at 4:30 when I was scheduled for 5:00. I was then sent home because they had called in a different server to work the dinner because I couldn't get there in time because apparently I was scheduled to come in at 3:00. I took both Jim and Perio over to the schedule and showed them that it stated that I was scheduled for 5:00 but I was still sent home despite it being...

Please, do not work here. I went in to turn in my application and without hesitation, I was hired in a minute! He immediately asked me to work that night! I had no "nice clothes" to work that night and only had an hour to go buy some, with money I didn't have yet! I was hired as a hostess but spent most of my time in the kitchen, cleaning, and carrying out drinks and food. After my first night, everyone was getting their share of the tips and I was told that I could not have anything like the other hostess because I was "in training". I worked close to 12 hours with no break. I was not allowed to sit down, I was not allowed to go to the bathroom and I was not allowed to drink or eat anything. My second night I was told that I did not look nice enough and I should wear makeup to work. I was the ONLY person that was told to wear my hair up. As I was told I would be a hostess, I did not expect to be in the kitchen on my HANDS AND KNEES cleaning the floor with a sponge. The owner stood over me and yelled that I was doing it wrong the entire time. After I would clean, he would tell me my clothes were disgusting. The first pay day, I did not receive a paycheck like everyone else, but a hand written check with the WRONG AMOUNT on it. He took over $100 out of how much I would have made those two weeks. On a hand written check. I worked here for over a month and never once received any actual paycheck or any tip money. Every check I did get had the wrong amount on it and he would argue with me about the hours that I worked. Working here would bring me to tears in the middle of a shift just from the way the owner would talk to me. He would yell and cuss all the time. But all he ever did was sit at the bar and drink. I was 16 while working here, but he still had me serving alcohol to customers. When I would refuse to I would get yelled at in front of people at the bar! I gave my two weeks notice to his wife, who was also an "owner", and when I got home that night he called me to tell me I was fired. I had to wait 3 weeks to get my last paycheck. The amount was once again wrong and I had to stand there and argue for close to an hour about how many hours I worked. And yes, it was another handwritten check out of his checkbook. Not only is the food disgusting, dirty, and completely unsanitary, working there was a very toxic situation. If this place ever got inspected while I was working there, it would have been shut...

The WORST experience my family has EVER had! I truly wish I could rate this place 0 stars but for some reason it won't let me. It looks like a featured joint that someone slapped a few fancy tables into and a bunch of dollars on a menu and the atmosphere does not feel much different than that. Worst situation ever... I have an 18 month old with a speech delay the way he communicates, and the way most 18 month olds communicate is through loud noises. Every single time he needed to let us know something sounded like a normal child there was nothing extreme and we would address whatever issue the problem was and he would quiet down we even looked around at the surrounding tables and apologize softly and tried to give knowing eyes excetera. At the end of our meal my son screamed at one time and some jerk over at another table, a group of nicely dressed elderly people at that, yelled loudly at my child. After he did that someone else said thank you with an! And the rest of the extremely small crowd started clapping! Honestly if I hadn't just experienced it for myself I wouldn't believe that anyone could have such deplorable awful behavior. We had already been told that our kids meal that was horrible and rubbery and my children couldn't eat could not be taken off of our bill we had to substitute it with something else so we already were not very happy but to be clocked out of a business establishment because of a small child who makes some noises... I truly wish I could shut this entire place down. It's full of a bunch of old regulars who don't want any children screwing up their evenings. I know a new that however that does not give anyone the right to treat anyone this way especially a small child who communicates through loud noises and grunts.THAT is normal. What was THEIR excuse? So incredibly horrible from start to finsh. Priced too high, bad customer attention, and HORRIBLE patrons. While I realize that is not the restaurant, they should have not allowed ANY of their patrons to be treated so shamefully. It was truly deplorable. I plan to contact the local paper tomorrow to see if they would be interested in the, yet another, restaurant mistreating of a child with disabilities. .....this world has lost ALL...

This evening we took a break from our little road trip to have an early dinner in New Bern at La Casetta. At the door, the hostess informed us that they had only one table available that didn’t have reservations if we could be finished before 7 PM. We decided to go for it, and everything came out in a very timely fashion, so it all worked out for everyone. We sat in the back room, which is actually perfect for us with our autistic daughter. She needs room to move and isn’t always quiet. Our server was nice and helpful, returning to our table quite often to keep things moving- she was available but not hovering. We decided to skip an appetizer and just ordered our daughter’s angel hair with butter right away. I ordered the Rigatoni Porcini and added on a side salad for $2.50, and opted for the fresh pasta for an extra $3.50. My boyfriend ordered the “make your own pasta dish” in which he chose angel hair, grilled chicken, and marinara sauce. He, too, added on a side salad and the fresh pasta. The server brought a basket of freshly baked bread to our table while we waited. In conversation, we learned that the chef individually prepared each meal, so we expected a long wait. However, it wasn’t long until my daughter’s pasta and our salads arrived with a fresh basket of bread. And just as we were finishing our salads, our pastas arrived. They were beautiful and tasted delicious! We all asked for to-go containers about halfway through, and I was happy to see that they were aluminum and plastic lids, rather than styrofoam. The server plated them for us, and we were off! My boyfriend was pleased with the bill as much as he was with the food- he was surprised that it wasn’t more, with our add-ons and his beer. As we were leaving, I commented that I had found another surprise gem! My boyfriend agreed.

In the mood for Italian tonight so wife and I went to La Casetta. Ordered specials instead of from the menu. Wife had grilled mahi and mixed veggies. I had a Rigatoni Siciliane with Italian Sausage. Followed that up with tiramisu for dessert. All the food was fantastic. However our service was lacking. Our waiter, although polite wasn't available for refills on our water or coffee or bringing another bread basket with the meal. Restaurant was busy but not packed. We enjoy the food here and will return again. It is as authentic and flavorful as one would expect it to be. Updated Review 4/3/2024 Made reservations for my father's birthday and this was the first time my parents had dined here. Party of 5, we were seated and promptly greeted by our server, Olivia. She was very cordial, polite and pleasant. Throughout the entire evening, she kept check on our table keeping our glasses full, making sure the meals had met our expectations. Everyone had ordered something different from the menu and all were very tasty. Items ordered - Appetizer: Pantte Mediterranea; Meals: Spaghetti Ri Cursa, Fettucine Mediterranea, Chicken Marsala, Veal Parmigiana and Rigatoni Porcini. For dessert, a Tiramisu and coffee. Everyone was quite full after dinner with leftovers to take home.

I really wanted to like this place so bad. The order was taken quickly and the staff was so super nice. I did takeout but had to go inside to get my order and the inside had amazing ambience. But my pasta hardly had any sauce on it so therefore really little flavor. Not sure if the noodles are homemade but they were pretty good by themselves. May give it another chance because like I said the staff was super nice I did takeout again this afternoon!!! I am so glad I did. It was amazing and honestly so much better than most Italian restaurants I've been too. And I've been to ALOT. I've lived overseas and this alfredo beats even them! Again, the staff was consistently nice. I'm going to have to get a babysitter and make this a date place for me an my husband. Thank you.
