**BEWARE
Last night my very close friends and I along with our significant others and children went out to eat as a group to this restaurant. It's located on Nuese Blvd, down from the Hospital next to Dunking Dounuts and across from KFC.
So we all go in get seated, order our drinks, then our sushi and meals. We all get our drinks. We're the only people in the restaurant at this time. We're all sitting around talking and bs'ing then our meals come out about 40 minutes after ordering. We get along the kids squared away and they start to eat and us adults put our plates to the side. We all ordered sushi, we wanted to eat it before our meal since it's not good the next day like the meal is. So about 15 minutes later here it come! We're so excited and start to dig in, this is when my friend asked all of us if we smelled gas. We all said no. Not even 5 minutes later it hit all like a ton of bricks. My friend and my daughter are both asthmatic, then we had 3 small children along with another child with us. So I go up to the front and asked the gentleman if we could please open the side door near where we were sitting cause the smell of the gas is over powering. He was hesitant to do so but finally did. We were very thankful for. Then about 8 to 12 men come walking through to the bathroom and we all start to gag. The smell was awful. It was these men drenched in gasoline. Now since the smell is so much worse it send my friend into a full blown asthma attack which then causes a panic attack, my 2 babies started to get shakey, my oldest daughter was super shakey and had a pretty bad headache, myself well I ended up super super sick and light headed as all get out. I go again and speak to the gentleman at the front counter where I then learn that he a total douchebag and the owner of this restaurant to let him know about my friends who is having a very hard time breathing and how we had to get everyone out of the building cause the smell was so bad and was giving us all effects from it., that we also didn't get the opportunity to enjoy our sushi due to this problem. His responce "I made you the food you wanted now you pay." I tried to explain to him that we didn't eat the food and now it was covered in fumes that it would be any good. He didn't care, he then threatened to call the cops on us. I didn't want anymore trouble cause there was enough so we paid, I wasn't asking for a free handout. We did eat some of the sushi and our kids were able to eat there meals. I would have gladly paid for what we ate. But instead I received a bill of $102 and my friends $90. And we were never asked if any of us were okay. Being my friend was in a full blown asthma attack which then sent her into an panic attack. Her kids reviewed headaches, my oldest super shakey, nauseous and pounding headaches, me I was puking my guts up and extreme burning sensation and awful headaches. During all of this a few of those gas covered men were outside smoking during the asthma attack and went inside and they all data there and laughed about putting someone into respatory distress. Where is that funny, still no one to check on any of us or to even ask if we're okay. What happened instead we get into an argument with the gas covered men outside cause they wanted to know what the problem was. Still nothing being done about that either. So we're now having to call rescue cause this attack is getting so bad. Still nothing. This place was completely awful.
The reason for this post is to let you know how terrible this establishment is and how terrible they treated us. But also if these men wouldn't of had shirts on they wouldn't have been able to come inside and be seated to eat but covered in gas you can? I...
Read moreOverall, this is a solid Hibachi place. It's owned by the same company that owns Musachi, so it's about the same food. See details:
Food (6.5/10) - Hibachi is pretty solid. The meats on the hibachi for the most part is done traditionally, filet is my favorite here. The rice is for the most part pretty bland, just carrots/sauce. Sushi is very mediocre. The fish is surprisingly not fresh, but their nigiri and regular rolls are pretty good. Their specialty roles really lack flavor. Other items like Udon are mediocre as well. Their Pad Thai is pretty decent, but different from traditional. Appetizers are pretty standard, though spring rolls are Vietnamese style.
Atmosphere (7/10) - When you walk in, you'll see a sushi bar and dining area to the left and right. Overall, it's pretty clean, although almost too dim. Behind the Sushi bar is an open style kitchen for the hibachi. Although open kitchen is something of a mainstream concept and everyone seems to appreciate it, for an hibachi place, it isn't very conducive for the smell. Expect to walk out smelling like it. Design/concept of restaurant is old and not maintained but not really important. Decently clean bathrooms!
Take Out (6/10) - Ordered take out from this place several times. Phone ordering was a breeze and brief. However, my order has been wrong all three times I've had takeout here, provided they were small mistakes easily remedied. Takeout time they estimate is around 15 minutes although it's always ready by the time I get there. Not sure on the Sushi here.
Staff (10/10) - Where they get the fourth star is the staff. Everyone I've come into contact at this location is very accommodating and friendly. The wait staff is most of the times, aware and available. They may not have the eyes to look for certain needs but are very friendly and accommodating. The takeout and cashiers have always been so friendly and will do what it takes to satisfy your needs.
Value (8/10) - Overall, the prices at the restaurant is pretty fair. Chicken Hibachi at the very base is under $8 and depending on the premium meats, can go up to $15. However, they give you a lot of food - good portions of rice and protein. Albeit, the other food items are all over the place. The sushi is fairly priced for traditional dishes like nigiri or sashimi but specialty roles which really should be cheaper are really pricey and do not taste good. Other premium dishes and appetizers are all over the place, some fair and some not. However, this place is known for Hibachi right? And that value is great.
Other - menu is not available online and is pretty difficult to navigate.
Overall, I would recommend this place for the...
Read moreI didn’t wanna to give not even a one star. This place is worst I’ve been to. We were served with food and no utensils. we had to ask our waiter to give us utensils and napkins when other tables had napkins and utensils. This waiter did not acknowledged that my husband needed more drinks due to very greasy food. And when we asked for substitute for different salad, he came back answering us saying they can not do substitute, then I asked if I can pay extra to upgrade, this waiter rudely said “did you not understand what I said before.” In my head there’s different between substitute vs paying extra for upgrade. Anyways, my husband ended up having bad acid reflux due to greasy/nasty food from place served. And told our waiter that he wasn’t feeling too good, and asked if we can have rest of food for Togo. It took 20 plus minutes. My husband ended drive himself to Walgreens to buy medicine because of this place. While I’m waiting inside for this TOGO supposedly almost done, I found out that our total price was wrong. Then I go up to front desk asking this lady about this receipt, middle of my conversation she stopped me and answers her restaurant phone call and taking Togo orders. I have never been to place treated people like this. Everything what’s going on with Covid, I wanted to have nice dinner with my family. But in the end I regretting expecting good quality service when we are spending almost 70 bucks. Please reconsider before you go this place. I would rather just go...
