Only because Outback has only let me down once I had to take pictures. The first 3 are of our sirloin that was ordered medium rare AFTER IT WAS SENT BACK! The first time it was a seared raw, as if it was cooked from frozen, or not completely thawed. It had a nice sear but the inside was cold and purple. I have never had a problem with an outback steakhouse. In fact it has been a very reliable establishment no matter where I find one. I was visiting family in New Bern, and Outback was suggested. No hesitation from anyone to go. We were accomodated, a table for 10. We called ahead for a reservation at 630pm, for a table at 730pm. It started out great, but for a restaraunt that was clearly not busy it took 30 minutes to get our drinks from the bar and they came out wrong. I should have just ordered at the bar but I didnt want to have 2 tabs. They fixed the drinks. It took an hour to get our food from the time we ordered. Perfection does take time; however we were missing items and finally when my wife cut into her steak it was obviously raw. We wanted to send it back and when pointed out to the waitress she was polite and respectful. She also got the manager to bring out the steak the second time. The same steak came back and the manager asked us to check it. The pictures above are from the additional cooking. Clearly not cooked correctly. I asked her if it looked like the medium rare from the menu, (the last picture). She explained that Outbacks medium rares are more on the rare side than most places. She would not acknowledge that this was undercooked. I calmly pointed out that i would like to take a picture for reference (the third picture is the ond i took in front of her). I wish I would have taken a picture of it the first time. It appears the managers desire to be "friends" with her staff, and "defend her team" has lead to a lack of accountability within her restaraunt. Or maybe its just me and this should have been acceptable. To be fair We did not pay for our apetizers, and that specific meal was not charged. Read moreToday after my family and I waited for 25 minutes for a table we were told our table was still not ready so we waited 20 more minutes still not ready so the food was ordered for pick up. The wrong order was ordered for one of the items. After calling the restaurant repeatedly with no answer I tried to go over to the restaurant. I was finally able to get someone on the line while I’m route. I first talked someone who stated I was online with a manager. After I explained what happened to the manager she placed me on hold and told me I would have to speak to the corporate manager which I was surprised to hear but that is what she said. Then a manager came on and stated she was the shift manager and after I again explained to her she basically tells me I could not get a refund for the wrong order because it was placed by a third party. There was nothing she was willing to do to correct the order. So basically I take one trip and can’t get a table which then prompted me to have to just order which I tried to advise my family against. I never order anything else on the menu and the orders were not ready at the times they were supposed to be so we were still waiting for this person to tell me that after they knew I was on my way back that I would have to call back Friday morning and apparently did not want the incorrect order back. I dont understand this half management here. No one offer to fix it or make it right just giving me the run around and asking me a bunch of questions. The manager could have easily explained the incorrect order was placed but it is similar to the order you wanted so if you come back and pay the difference we can fix the order that you wanted. Problem solved it was no one understood how to fix this. Two clueless managers running a restaurant. You can’t seat people or fix and order. I would give it zero starts but it wasn’t an option. I will be contacting corporate and will go to the outback in Jacksonville in the future. I have never had one issue. If anything was wrong it was corrected. I am more bothered by the lack of concern and the lack of willing to make things right...
Read moreHands down the worst dining experience I've had in years. We were seated rather promptly in the bar area booths but that is where the service stopped. We saw who I would guess was our waiter one time and made the entire drink, app, and food order at the same time. Once the drinks arrived we never saw a refill the entire time even after asking multiple times to different people. Dishes were not picked up once from our table and between courses we had many start to pile up. The cheese fries were so cold the cheese never melted. My steak was burnt on one side and looked to have never hit the grill on the other. My daughters chicken tenders were fried so hard and burnt that you couldn't even eat them and her "mixed fruit" was one strawberry cut 4 times a half of an oranges. The loaded potato soup tasted like they took the water of boiled potatoes and just cut a baked potato in it, it was absolutely disgusting. Where was a manager you might ask? One was chatting with some people at the bar the entire time we were there and the other was so running around trying to act like a manager rather than being one.
