Sea & Soul Bar & Grille — Restaurant in New Bern

This exceeded expectations. Popped in for a quick bite while in the area and recieved something worth going back to over and over again. To start with, the food was fresh, hot and very appealing to the eye. So appealing we dived in without taking pictures... sorry. We had the loaded fries that were covered with a super flavorful cheese sauce and blue crab meat and small pieces of bacon. Salty, sweet from the crab and super savory. Tip: If you want to cut back on the salt asks them to leave off the bacon. This dish was a hit and really one of the best orders of crab fries I've had anywhere. That cheese sauce is so good I kept thinking of how it would taste on a cheese steak as well. Must be the PA in me... Then we had the tacos. All I can think about is how fresh and simple they were. Done perfectly and very flavorful. Toasted tortilla, with grilled/ fried fish and shredded purple cabbage with pico. They even have their own house sauce they put on these, which is a cool and refreshing sauce. We got salmon tacos grilled and our flounder tacos fried. Both were cooked to perfection. And yes they make good drinks too and the prices are really reasonable here for everything. Keep doing what you guys are doing. Maybe just make little touches to decor to make a little more nautical themed. But you guys are amazing. Keep it up. To all my fellow diners, make sure you stop in and give this place a chance. You won't be in anyway...

So Upset!! I’ve eaten here before and the food was great ,service was slow but I didn’t mind . I love supporting my black owned businesses and was so happy and excited to have found this spot . However last night I was finishing up a conference call & told my husband to call in an order for us because I was excited for him to try it and we had to be in new Berne for something . I wrote down everything to order . He calls and puts it on speaker the lady who took the order was so rude and unprofessional I could barely concentrate on my call because I couldnt believe she was behaving like that. He orders an appetizer and she says “we’re out of that “ he tells her okay “hold on one second “ so he tries to get me to write something else down for us to figure out what else we were going to get. she then sighs followed by “ oh my goddddd ..” and starts sarcastically starts humming on the phone and heavy sighing again . He then asks her about the chicken wings “ she sighs annoyed “ and answers. He then looks at me for an okay and while he does that I hear yet another rude “hellooooo …sighs and starts tapping the phone “. I honestly was so upset I couldn’t even go in there so we ended up just going elsewhere. You all need to do better . I understand if someone is slow to order but the behavior displayed was a disgrace to...

Where to begin with this. Service was painfully slow. I ordered the flounder platter. For $21 I got one piece of fish. Contrast this with $15 flounder platter at Carolina Grill where I got 4 pieces of fish. Supposed to come with 2 sides and hush puppies, per the menu. No hush puppies came with it. Some time after I ordered, my waitress informed me they were out of shrimp, and would I like more fish? I told her I didn’t order shrimp, and that I ordered the flounder platter. Somehow I was still served shrimp, and charged for flounder & shrimp platter - $5 more than what I ordered. My friend ordered a boil and chose the crab clusters. One of her (two) “clusters” only had 2 legs on it. Her food came about 5 minutes after mine did. Her food was supposed to be served with dipping sauce, which they didn’t bring until she was nearly finished with her food. The only time the waitress offered a drink refill was after we finished our food and she was clearing our plates. It took almost 10 minutes after this to get the check. My date was so disappointed in the whole experience she went outside to wait on me because she works as a server and couldn’t believe how poor this whole experience was. They need to work on this or they won’t be in business long. I won’t be back. Would not recommend this...
