Beartown Bistro & Pizza Company — Restaurant in North Carolina

We went in for dinner last night. It was busy considering it was a Friday night and st.patricks Day. We have been here before, but it was before the new bar. We asked to sit in the old part because we didn't know when going the new bar was the only part to sit in now unless you are a big party, but we were told no, so disappointing, but ok, no biggie. My husband and I had ordered a beer and a glass of wine while waiting. We get sat, and the waitress comes over, gets out order and all is well. I went to the restroom and when I came back she came to our table with a beer for my husband and a glass of wine for me. I looked at my husband because I barely drink 1 glass of wine much less 2. He says I didn't order you that. He ordered himself a beer but not wine for me. I would have said something, but I never saw her again. Our food gets delivered and our pizza has white sauce we ordered red and the skillet I ordered was soooo greasy. Now the skillet is whatever because it was what I ordered but I did not eat it. I thought chicken and brussel sprouts meant something healthy. It did not. Now, all of this could have been resolved but she never checked on us. I will say it was loud in there and so maybe she misheard the red sauce for the pizza and benefit of the doubt maybe the wine but either way I got charged for a $9 glass of wine I didnt order or drink, a pizza with the wrong sauce and a skillet I didnt eat. I would have said something but like I said we didn't see her until she brought the check and by that time, I just wanted out of there. I tried calling today to speak to a manager and was on hold for over 11 minutes before I hung up. We will not be back, and it sucks because I really did like their pizza...

Our waitress Willow was amazing! She was friendly, personable, and attentive.

They will adjust the menu for you if they can. My daughter saw spaghetti and meatballs on the list but only wanted butter noodles with parmesan. Without hesitation she got what she asked for.

The calimari was okay, not soggy but seemed the breading over powered the seafood. I asked for a lemon slice and was given 2 since they're on the small side. Ate it all but probably wouldn't order it again.

The pork potstickers though! The wrapper was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, the filling was so flavorful but the sauce! The dipping sauce is phenomenal. Ginger with a little wasabi kick to it. 😍🤤 I was left thinking about all the other things the sauce could be used for salads, shrimp, chicken, you name it. Will definitely order them again and recommend them when bringing family and friends out for a cozy meal.

Wrapped up our meal splitting a jumbo cookie for dessert. Seriously love a fresh warm cookie! 🔥 Crunchy bottom, ooey gooey middle, topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup! Yum Yum!! Will definitely order that again, but without the chocolate sauce topping.

This bistro has an extremely clean and relaxing environment. My spouse and I went here last night to try their dine in experience, and we felt welcomed the moment we came through the door. We were asked what we wanted to drink almost immediately, so no worries on a wait time there. The waitress was one of the nicest people I have met, with such a vibrant attitude. We ordered a 14" Hot Honey pizza with mushrooms. When the pizza arrived, they placed in on a side table tray so it would not get in the way of our dining experience. What surprised me the most and added just a bit of a personal touch to the experience was when our waitress cut the first pieces for us and placed it on our plates for us. This was a small but welcomed nuance because it shows that they care so much about you as a customer they don't even want you to have you to have to lift your hands to grab your first slice. A nice "sit down, take a load off, and enjoy some food" experience. Beartown Bistro is a wonderful place with a great owner, amazing staff, and continuously amazing food.
