This place was my favorite fast food place to get a classic combo of "Burgers and Fries" but unfortunately it has turned into a place that seems to be lacking good management and care for the establishment.
I'll say that the taste of the burgers is still good as well as the sides, but what I used to consider great burgers are now mediocre. It always seems like I and anyone else I'm with get extremely lazy or bad workers who don't care at all about some sort of decent presentation or quality control. The burgers always have lettuce/tomatoes falling out the sides and smothered in condiments. Other times the lettuce seems to be the scraps of what ever they have left and they just threw it in the burger last second and it makes for a meal that doesn't looks appetizing.
The actual dining area itself could use work as well, nearly every time I go now the tables are covered in trays and left over food from people who don't know to pick up after themselves it seems no one bothers cleaning it up and if they do they don't care enough to do a good job. It certainly doesn't help there always seem to be flies EVERY WHERE. It makes for a really uncomfortable meal swatting away bugs.
I used to have a higher rated review but as quality has gone down I have had to update my review and hopefully soon I'll be to say better things. But until the management does a better job improving the quality of the dining experience my review is a good reflection of the current state of an average experience.
(Just for reference I used to visit a couple...
Read moreFreddy's, in New Braunfels, is a great place to eat. If you are familiar with Culver's or Stake n' Shake burgers, they are very similar to those (real beef, pretty thin patties, fresh/made to order). The fries are similar to stake N shakes (also very thin). The cheese curds are OK, but not as tasty as Culver's (they don't even come close).
I ate here twice in two days and on the second day, I was looking something other than a burger and asked the general manager (crystal) for her opinion on the grilled VS fried chicken sandwich and she suggested that I go with the fried one. I'm glad I did, because it was delicious!!! So fresh and tasty!!! I remembered after I had placed my order, that I forgot to order a milk for my 1 yr old girl. I asked Crystal to order one in a new transaction, and she said she'd take care of it without charging me. So super nice of her!!!!! I was highly impressed. She anticipated some of the things we wanted to order and suggested them before we said them out loud. I didn't plan on getting dessert, but thought that it would be a good idea to do after she was so kind to give us a cup of whole milk for free. So, we picked up a few mini concretes.
All of the sandwiches were topped with some of their free, fry sauce near the soda machine and really made them taste even better!!!
Of course, like Culver's they have custard here and it's so rich and creamy. Its so super rich, that I'd suggest going with a mini or a small, at most.
I'll definitely be coming back when I'm...
Read moreThis was my favorite hamburger spot. I’ve even eaten here on my birthday, I like it that much.
Anyways, they can’t seem to take orders correctly. My mother ordered a combo with no cheese. I ordered a burger with cheese.
I realized they charged me for a combo even though I didn’t order one. I got it corrected /refunded and received many apologies. Ok.
The food arrives and both burgers have no cheese. My mother eats her meal while I return my burger. At this point I ask for a complete refund for my burger. Now I have a pocket full of change because these people can’t place orders.
This was ridiculous. I left Freddys starving, hungry and mad. Freddy’s burger can’t even take simple orders!!!!! I hate their fries so I don’t ever order them. Surprise!
We also noticed the manager yelling at the cooks and pointing at me. It wasn’t the cooks fault it was the counter staffs fault. And ultimately it was the managers fault because she profusely apologized in my face while she didn’t even bother to check the order the second time it came out. Shame on her!!!!!
Also, the manager profusely apologized until I told her to stop it. I explained I didn’t want to hear it. She offered me a free custard, which infuriated me. All I wanted was a damn hamburger with cheese but they can’t even get that right. So disappointed in a place that used to be my favorite. I want to write their corporate office so they know they lost a loyal...
