I came to this restaurant over 20+ years ago so a lot has changed. This used to be a Cuban Restaurant but it doesn't have the taste. You usually got a bang for your buck too! The food was good but the fish could've had some kind of sauce on it, but it had flavor. I got the lunch special and thought it came w salad. It's better to get the lunch special because I wouldn't want to pay full price for 1 fish filet w/o sauce. All I had a nice experience.

Shame on them. Completely and Totally Disappointed. Can't believe I paid $10.00 for rice. I purchased Oxtails lunch, they gave me 3 thin slice oxtails. Yes 3 THIN SLICE (Picture shows it's not even a 1/2 inch thick)!!! I was eating my salad when I was looking for the rest of the Oxtails but none to be found.

First time visiting this cozy corner cafe and it exceeded my expectations. The roasted chicken wasn't dry at all and is well seasoned. I enjoyed the potato salad and wanted another scoop. Excellent customer service serving large pocket friendly portions.

So, I moved to the area a few months back, and noticed that the area lacks in latin cuisine. I found the Caribbean Cafe on Google, and decided to pay a visit, for lunch, based on the user reviews. It was not worth the 15 minute trip. The service, to go, was fairly quick, as I was in and out in under 5 minutes, but, then again, this could be explained by the lack of taste in their food. I tried the lunch special to go. It comes with a "salad". The salad had no taste whatsoever. It was a few tomatoes and lettuce soaked in water. A little lemon would have been nice. I tried the "arroz con guandules" which was very bland. I expected at least a little bit of seasoning, but nothing. I went in for the pernil, but when I saw it, it already had started crusting over, definitely not fresh, so I opted for the baked chicken. When I bit into the chicken, I understood why they had left the salad soak in water. It was so youd be able to wash down the meat. It was dry, and suprisingly, bland. If your looking for the opposite of what latin cusine is suppose to taste like, I highly recommend the Carribean cafe. But if your looking to enjoy a meal, and you come across the Carribean cafe, do yourself a favor and just run. I give this place 2 stars, and that because I...

Disappointing Experience: Horrible Food.

I recently visited this restaurant, which I had frequented many years ago when it first opened. Unfortunately, my latest experience was a disaster.

I ordered a papaya shake, which was mostly ice with barely any papaya, causing a severe brain freeze.

I ordered baked salmon with salad and fried plantains was a catastrophe. The salad contained rotten lettuce, while the fish was old, smelled fishy, and tasted awful. The plantains were refried, burnt, and rock-hard.

After tasting the fish and two plantains, I became sick. Despite paying the full price of $25.00, I couldn't finish the meal.

When I showed the owner the slimy fish, she became defensive and argumentative. She insisted the food was fresh and dismissed my concerns about the black lettuce, attributing it to the packaging from a large plastic bag. Even when I pointed out the lettuce's age, she maintained that the fish had been seasoned the day before and was fine.

Shockingly, they didn't offer to replace my meal or waive the charge.

Rating: 1/5 stars (avoid...

I was born around the corner....in my most lonely moments, this place became home. my favorite meals. it is also available on uber eats. I love you Lucia, it is Patrick. this is a wholesome environment where you DO get your moneys worth and even more. no chisma no gossip, all love and respect in this building and everybody is welcome. I am a spaniard, to be so accepted and seen in a latino environment is something I don't take for granted. I recommend the beef empanadas, if youre veggie get there early to catch the cheese ones! and the chicken is a classic... I recommend you get there early if you want yellow rice because I'll beat you there! haha.

ill never forget my lonely nights becoming not so hopeful for my city... and I walk in and Lucia is in full dia de los muertos make up while working, and she says hello Patrick! ill never forget how you've treated my dates and friends, thank you all staff and family. this is home....
