My daughter wanted to try this place since she heard good things about it. We looked at the reviews and it was overwhelmingly positive, so we were excited to try it. Once we got there at around 5pm, the trash was piled up on the sidewalk right in front of the establishment which was a red flag for me (why would a restaurant have trash in front right at the start of dinner time?). But I got over it since I just thought that they took out the trash very early for the next day pick up. The inside had a nice atmosphere, the restaurant was almost full, and the service was prompt and friendly - all good signs. I ordered the spicy miso ramen and my daughter ordered the vegetarian version. However, the food was just “meh”. It was spicy as I would expect but the flavor is just salty overall without any distinction of other flavors unlike other ramen places. Also, there was not much substance in the soup with just a few small pieces of vegetables and two very small pieces of pork (even in my daughter’s vegetarian version, there was barely any vegetables and just one piece of tofu). The ramen noodles was also bland similar to what you can get from the 25 cents ramen noodle packets. So the food is really nothing to write home about, and definitely not worth $12 for each bowl when it probably cost less than $2 to make it. But what really turned me off was the bathroom. I went in there, and the toilet was just nasty with #2 all over it. I realize that it’s not the restaurant’s fault that one of their customers “destroyed” the toilet, but still it’s not something you would want to see at a restaurant. And the bathroom is literally right next to the tables. I gave it two stars for the service and the food, but one star for the questionable cleanliness and value. Needless to say, we...
Read moreCame here after reading that this place is the best Ramen spot in NJ. They're not wrong. Everything my party ordered was special. It was delicious!!! My favorite is the burnt garlic tonkatsu ramen. I tried the Truffle ramen too and it is very good but my pallet enjoys the strong and rich in flavor garlicky taste. Seriously, it's crack. Please try their Ebi Katsu Bao. IT'S CRACK!!! I can order 7 of these in 1 sitting if I really want to let go of myself that day lol. The lemon grass in that Bao just makes a difference. I didn't actually think it was going to be that good but now, it's my favorite!
Now, the actual restaurant and it's employees. There's a wait especially if you go around 6:30 - 8pm. Just for the tip, if you're planning on visiting, make sure to reserve a table on yelp. Check the waiting time cause sometimes, it's about an hour wait. Food comes out really quick so, make sure you don't over order on appetizers. The employees... THEY ARE AMAZING PEOPLE!!! Very attentive and not once did we go there and felt forgotten. They're just so good! Jeremy took our orders and honestly, he made our dinner a lot more enjoyable. He provided us with answers to all our questions and was very honest to what he favors the most. He was on point with my direction and brought everything I requested for to our table. There's another guy who also helped us. He's tall and looks like he's half Asian. He's awesome too!!! Brought a smile on my face on how awesome you guys are!
I almost forgot to mention the price of the food. Please don't ever change it 😂😂😂 it's perfect!!!
We will be back. You guys already know this! Thank you for the...
Read moreWow, what an experience. Stop your search and come eat here. Best food and service in town. Everything was amazing. We were greeted at the door by Darius, who took amazing care of us the entire time. He was the perfect restaurant host. Perfectly attentive but not overbearing. Friendly and made great recommendations. Even if the food had been awful Darius would have still made the experience great, however luckily they have a top notch chef who turns every ingredient into perfection. Fried Chicken was crisp on outside moist and juicy on the inside. Pork belly had a nice Smokey flavor. So many places overcook chicken and pork where as this was right to the exact perfect moment. We were almost disappointed when the Takoyaki came out because it looked small when it came out in such a large bowl, but became one of our favorite dishes the minute we bit in, great chunks of octopus and all of the flavors melted so well. We tried 3 different ramen. All were amazing. The spicy Miso which is always on the menu and a great choice if you like a little kick. We tried two seasonal ramens, a wagyu and a truffle garlic butter ramen. Which were also incredible. We made odd requests and Darius catered to each one very kindly. Darius ever opened the door on the way out. When we left the restaurant everyone in our group agreed that even though the restaurant was packed, everything was so fast and smooth and we were we felt like we were the only table that mattered to Darius in the restaurant. However I imagine each table felt that way when they left. This place...
