VIVA MEXICO RESTAURANTE — Restaurant in New Brunswick

We went here late last night because the place is rated highly. Hosts were friendly but ‘no hablo ingles’ whatsoever. We in our best effort explained we were ‘soy vegetariano’ and ‘no carne por favor’. Ordered a cheese enchilada replacing mozzarella with ‘queso fresco’. We got the order but were very disappointed with the overall quality of the product. The mole was subpar. The nachos were stale (mostly). I would have rated a 2 but bumping it to 3 because they were accommodating to our requests and trying their best. However, it’s not like we ordered a complicated dish or off-the-menu dish that Quality suffered so badly. The food was just inedible. We left it halfway because we couldn’t continue eating.

Lost in Translation can only explain so much. Quality (or the lack thereof) has its own language.

Viva Mexico has been my go to Mexican restaurant for when I’m craving the delicious Birria tacos and it has been since summer of 2021. The place it self is kinda small but then again thats how you know the food will be bomb!💣 Definitely recommend the birria tacos!
