I'm going to complain about something petty. It grinds my gears. It chafes my thighs. It bruises my bananas.
Reserved Spot #1 & 2... It is the misbegotten brain child of some corporate buffoon who is clearly detached from reality.
IT IS A BAD IDEA.
Listen, BAD IDEAS happen every day. But when you people accept these bad ideas as practice, and enough of you people accept these stupid, idiotic ideas that it becomes common practice, so common that it has a negative impact on ME- Well, here I am. writing in my corner of the world to try to educate you people.
Maybe I need to explain.
If you were born in the nineties, you might barely remember a time when drive thru had only one window. After placing your order, they would take payment and hand you your purchased food FROM THE SAME WINDOW.
But it didn't take long for major chains to adopt a second window. Likely due to people leaving the line due to longer wait times. So, it stands to reason that the sooner the eatery can collect and hold your payment, the more obligated you are to stay in line and wait for your food.
Do you get it? I get it. I don't necessarily have an issue with THAT. I do get grumpy when the first window takes my payment and fails to let me know that they are running late on orders and there will be a longer wait time. But I get it.
HOWEVER, we've left those simple times behind. NOW, after ordering and paying for your food at the first window, you make it to the proverbial second window, greeted with the sweet aroma of fried everythings, only to be asked, oh so politely, to go park to the side and they will send a runner out with your food when it's ready.
I'm disappointed. I gave you my money. I made it to window #2. Where's ma' food? Oh, you want me to park OVER THERE? FURTHER AWAY? IN THE DARK? I'M GOING TO HAVE TO CHANGE GEARS!?
I can feel all the other patrons laughing at me as I slowly slouch over to the Reserved Spot #2. Look at that McLoser. Greedy guy tried to order too much food, now look at him. Parked in the Mcpurgatory. Maybe next time he'll think twice before he orders that second Mcsandwhich.
Do you see what's happened? THIS IS not a drive thru anymore.
It's a Park-n-Wait.
At least have the honesty and forthrightness to change the signs!
On the bright side, I'm exploring healthier eating options. I've noticed that when I avoid McDonalds lately my blood pressure is more manageable. That's probably a good thing for everyone.
But who knows, maybe I'm the only one. I mean, if enough people felt the same annoyance and started avoiding the Golden Arches Park-n-Wait, surely this whole trend would disappear, right?
Guys. Do the right thing.
Make McDonalds...
Read moreMary, the manager is extremely rude. She acts like she donât have a boss above her! My whole experience at this location was horrible!! If I could leave no stars, I would. Right now we are living in hard times with the inflation & the economy. When I come to McDonaldâs, I like to use my app to save money. I ordered two bundles for $3.29 each and two drinks, which are $1.29 each. I was using my app to get 20% off of my entire order if I spend $5 or more excluding tax. So I did that, other locations Iâve been to, always allow me to use the app. Somehow they couldnât and told me I had to order one more item. Which my total without using the app was almost $10! So I told them other locations have allowed me to use the app and take off the 20%. And I asked the clerk to get her manager, and the manager was extremely rude and I asked for a corporate number and she said, âI donât know the corporate number.â And laughed at me. I went ahead and called customer care support through McDonaldâs and reported her behavior and the fact that she wouldnât allow me to use the 20% off even though Iâve done it before at other locations. I hope karma hits her hard. Iâm a single mom, and I struggle daily trying to pay the bills. When I stop at McDonaldâs and use my app, I should be able to do that without someone telling me I canât. McDonaldâs is a billion dollar company and I donât think 20% off of my $10 order wouldâve broke them. Based off of my experience with your unprofessional manager, Mary at this McDonaldâs I wonât be back. They knew my name for some reason, so if they used my code from my app & knew my name why didnât I get 20% off? Come on McDonaldâs! Do better than hiring someone whose just there for their paycheck! Or maybe they are taking the 20% off and taking extra money out of the drawer, which means McDonaldâs has a thief on...
Read moreI went through the drive thru on 8/28 at about 2:42/2:45 and I told them I ordered on the app and gave them the code. Well the guy told me he couldn't find the order so then a woman, her name is Mary, chimes in on the mic and immediately had an attitude with me. I told her I'm sorry I don't normally use the app and she continued to be EXTREMELY rude to me saying in rude tones and even raised her voice at me "if it doesn't have any letters then it's not a mobile order. What do you want to order?!" And finally I just had had enough and said "I don't know. I ordered on the app..." And then she cut me off and scoffed then said rudely "just pull around!" So for this experience I would give this fast food no stars! However, when I pulled up to the first window a guy, I didn't get his name, wearing a blue button up shirt apologized and found my order no problem and made sure my food was fresh and exactly what I ordered and I really appreciate that! The Mary woman who worked there today at that time really needs to be talked to about customer service! I understand working fast food sucks, however customer service no matter where you are should come first. I mean shoot, being nice to people who are trying to be nice to you should be human decency! I never rose my voice to Mary nor was I ever rude and as soon as she got on the mic she was instantly EXTREMELY rude and rose her voice at me even though I never got rude with her or rose my voice! If she can't even fake being nice for customer service, she probably shouldn't be working anywhere that you have to deal with people. Because of Mary, I might not come back and when I do order it's 40$ or more everytime! However, the guy in the blue button up shirt was amazing and I was sure to be nice right...
