Still a 💎 gem of a restaurant. It's been 6 months since I was here and I was here today and Nino remembered me from before. He is an impressive gentleman and the restaurant is too!

The Carpe Diem breakfast was wonderful. This time I had it with French Toast and beef links. Very delicious!

I told Nino I would do a review, mention this review to him and tell him I sent you!

I'll be here again on my next visit for sure!

ORIGINAL REVIEW: Early September 2022 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I was just introduced to this place on my recent trip to Harrisburg. It definitely was a great experience. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious, it also was just like visiting your parents house and they were cooking for you on your visit.

The owner Nino greeted our party and didn't just treat us like just another customer. He joked with us and gave us suggestions. Another customer spoke to me and my wife about how he misses quality food and service like this, so this is a rare find in Harrisburg

Being from the Philadelphia area we definitely have a lot of choices for restaurants. However coming here I find there aren't as many top notch (mom and pop) restaurants with better meals and basically on par with a chain restaurant like IHOP for the cost. It can include fresh bread too!

Breakfast here is about $10-$12 per special. However naturally the filet mignon special is a bit more. The luncheon specials are about $14-16 on average. There are a few that cost a bit more, but very reasonable imo

The veal bacon was very amazing. I myself enjoy a meaty bacon and this definitely got the bill! Next time I plan on asking for my potatoes to be cooked longer, only because I like mine crispy. But you can get it whatever you like. I forgot to ask, so next time I will.

The only thing I'd suggest you understand is, the coffee is his special blend. We did find very few grounds at the bottom of the cup (but it isn't a big deal). They definitely serve it fresh. One guest at our table had an eggshell in their omelette. But again not an issue if you consider this means they are cracking eggs fresh and cooking it to order. I put it this way, if you're at your parents place would you really care if a bit of shell or few coffee grounds are there? Nope... Because the food was unbelievable and the ambiance was amazing (and 𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙝)

You will not regret going here. Believe you me, if you want a big city experience and charm then this is the best place we've been to in a while here in Harrisburg. I am definitely coming back. Not just for the food or service but for the atmosphere and the fact the owner gives this place a personal touch.

I wholeheartedly support more local businesses then chain or national ones. I definitely want to support someone who supports and gives back to their community. Looking forward to...

We were staying at a hotel in Harrisburg foe a few days to participate to the Mecum Auctions and the breakfast was really bad, so we looked for a place to have breakfast on our way the Auctions. And Carpe Diem popped up. I read the reviews, checked the neighborhood and the area seemed calm with plenty of street parking. We decided to give it a chance. Google still had street view pictures of the previous business which didn't help. When we arrived, the place was really nice and updates with some small trees on the front which made that place much more inviting. That day was pretty quiet, we picked a table and the owner Nino took care of us. He is really nice. You can see what we ordered on the pictures and we made a couple of substitutions that Nino had no issues with. Everything was good. But what I couldn't get over was how nicely remodeled the inside was, the hallway to the bathroom, the one to the outdoor patio on the back, etc. Tastefully done. We chatted with Nino and he indicated that he also had bedrooms for rent and that the breakfast was free for the renters. He has a really good thing going on, he works hard and it's paying off. I recommend Carpe Diem to anyone and I am sure the bedrooms are great based on how everything else is well put together. When we will go back in that area to enjoy Hershey Park, we will...

We’ve been loyal patrons of Carpe Diem for a few years now, and it all started when we were searching for a new breakfast spot. Luckily, we stumbled upon this hidden gem in New Cumberland, and from the moment we walked in, we knew we had found something special. The beautiful décor and relaxing atmosphere set the perfect tone, and to our delight, the owner, Nino, personally waited on us. His warmth, friendliness, and genuine hospitality made us feel right at home.

That first visit was unforgettable—our breakfast was absolutely delicious, and we knew we had found our new go-to spot. Since then, we’ve enjoyed many lunches and occasional dinners, and I can truly say that every dish we’ve tried has been outstanding. Nino’s passion for his food, his restaurant, and his customers shines through in every detail, ensuring that each visit is a wonderful experience.

Most recently, I celebrated my birthday in a private room with family and friends, and Nino and his incredible staff went above and beyond to make it a truly special occasion. Their attention to detail and warm hospitality made the evening unforgettable.

If you’re looking for exceptional food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a team that genuinely cares about your experience, Carpe Diem is the place to be. Thank you, Nino and team, for consistently making every...

This was highly recommended by a friend and we are both extremely pleased we listened. Went for breakfast on a Sunday morning around opening. The menu isn't large but is supplemented by the chalked specials which feature some novel non-pork breakfast options. We ordered veal bacon omelet and mignon benedict. The meal and service were without a doubt one of the better experiences I have had and a real credit to the Harrisburg food scene. I'm sorry we didn't find it sooner because it feels like we wasted time at other locations. The ambience works well together with all the thoughtful touches like polished silverware and gently playing music. We did return two more times for lunch (Burek and Goulash) and another breakfast. At all times the service from the Nino the owner and staff were top notch. There are many other meals we want to try so it goes without saying that we are sure to return.
