IT TOOK 75 MINUTES FOR AN APP OF TACOS TO GO ! I ordered online and it says pick up time ASAP 60min. There is no way to edit this but I had ordered take out before, ordered the same thing and it was less than 15 minutes. Probably 10 min. And I figured they will see it's just tacos (an app on their menu) and it won't take that long.... I went in 25 min after ordering and they said it will be another 20-25 minutes. I went to wait in my car and the manager called me bc I requested in the directions for flour tortillas - as it states on their menu - BUT last time they gave me corn tortillas. Manager said all they have is corn. Not like they are out, it just says the wrong thing on their PAPER menu. Like that can't be changed? She then asked me what it said online for my pickup and I told her same as I described above. She said yea I thought that was weird too (an hour for an app?!) she said I will look into this and call you back as soon as they are ready. Silly me naively thinking she will ask for it on the fly bc..wth?.... she doesn't call. I go back in 55 min after I had placed order and they say it's not ready 'they're working on it now.' I asked the first person who waited on me if I just walk in and order will it take as long. He said no and showed me his computer screen that shows my order and says pickup 6:22 (an hour after I ordered) so they don't even bother to look at the tickets nor did the staff going back there asking for it do a damn thing. The kitchen just intentionally waited to make it. I waited there another 20 min before I got my food. An hour and 15 mins after ordering. 3 tacos. Like?? Children could run this place better!!! Who on earth would think 60 min is reasonable wait time for an app!! Never mind staff repeatedly asking about it. Just pure ignorance. For context, they were on a 40 min wait for dine in but also telling guest they could go to the bar and order food while they wait for a table... AND, if I just walked in and ordered to go it would have been ready in 20min /less than 30 min. So what they SHOULD HAVE DONE is canceled my online order and just re-ordered as a walk in. I have experience waitressing and having to deal with a kitchen and this was just petty and ignorant. Terrible...
Read moreEdit: we made the mistake of going to the Wild Rabbit again last night. Before I continue, I do have years of experience in food service, including in State College on football home game Saturdays, with an entire career in dealing with the public in customer service, and there is no way that a place like the Wild Rabbit shouldn't be able to handle the volume of customers in New Cumberland on a Saturday night. This place is so mismanaged and disorganized. Our 50 minute wait turned into a 90 minute wait. Once sat, two people at our table had enough time to get up, go to the bar, get their beers and come back before we decided to leave: a server never came and we had to move on to the rest of what we had planned for the evening. I promise you that nothing in this restaurant will ever be worth the 1.) wait, 2.) poor service, and 3.) total on your bill after what you just experienced. But don't worry - when you say something to the manager, she won't care and dismiss you looking at nothing on the screen at the host stand.
This place is a cool location with great decor and vibe with the table set up. However, the constantly changing menu could be cool, but they cant pull it off with maintaining quality selections from menu to menu (fewer and fewer items they can make well). Also, the wait staff are terrible - place could be dead empty and it will still take 2 hours to get your food and pay. Tonight we were in, we were lucky enough to get a table right away but waited over 10 mins to have a server come over. Nobody came so we got up to leave and go somewhere else. The totally clueless staff literally told us to have a good night as we walked past the host stand to leave, while 5 of them were standing there. It's so appalling. If this wasnt the first time that it happened, I wouldnt be so harsh. But we have been in pretty consistently given we are local, and the staff's lack of attention to customers is...
Read moreUpdate 2: I stopped in for lunch and they have new bar stools that look a lot more comfortable and they have some sound boards hanging from the ceiling to help with the noise. It wasnt busy so Im not sure if it will work, but Im excited to try them for dinner soon. It's nice to see they are listening.
Update: we finally were able to try the Rabbit for dinner on a Wednesday with no wait. Either the menu changed or there are some additional choices for dinner. We had the Bacon jalapeno smash burger, the smash burger, and the shrimp nachos. The nachos seemed oddly bland, but the burger was good. The 3 of us shared one of the tables with another party of 3, it's just a little odd being so close to another party. It was difficult to stay fully engaged with our parties conversation since we could hear our neighbors so easily. It was difficult to have a conversation in general since it was very loud, and my ears are still ringing a bit.
I stopped in for lunch and tried the smash burger with a side of tomato soup. I really like they have options besides fries. You can also get a side salad. We sat at a high top on the bar side, which is first come seating. I will say everything looks great, and I look forward to trying them for dinner. We tried on a Friday night, and there was a long wait, and they were packed. When we were waiting in line to see what the wait time was on that Friday , it was very loud with the people chatting and...
