Smoothie King — Restaurant in New Hanover Township

Ordered a Pure ReCharge Mango Strawberry and Apple Kiwi Kale. Pure ReCharge was fine. Apple Kiwi Kale was not. It was thick with a custard like texture and light mint green color. Not the normal liquid juice consistency or bright green color. The cup tipped over later on and the contents didn't budge. Had to grab and go, didn't have time to go back and talk to the staff. Took a few sips thinking maybe it was just thick because of ice or whatever, shortly after I had an allergic reaction requiring medical attention. This was later narrowed down to the whey protein powder that was added in apparant gross quantity to the Apple Kiwi Kale. The best blendologists this side of the Mississippi! I’ve been coming here for the last month or so on and off and everytime I come they blend it up perfectly. Always nice and smiling faces (even under the masks you can see) when I come by. The only critique I have is that they close early but I know that’s out of their control and it’s the mini mall who decides on these hours. If they could stay open past 5 till maybe 530-6ish it would be amazing for those of us who don’t get off until after the national anthem plays and want a refreshing smoothie before heading home...

At around 1330 on Sunday, 7 May, 2023 I ordered my chocolate slim-n-trim. They informed me that they were out of bananas but could substitute peanut butter. When I got my smoothie it was weak and tasteless. I returned it immediately and was told it was because of the missing bananas and said they couldn't give me a refund. They gave me a strawberry slim-n-trim, which doesn't require bananas with the same result. I'll try it again next weekend as they're usually very good, but they were very disappointing that...
