Been wanting to come to this place for a while and finally carved out the time to go. Wednesday afternoon seemed to be a perfect time to avoid a crowd. Started off the meal with the formaggi platter - great cheese selections (although one of the cheeses was a touch too dry) and the fruit bread was delicious. For the main course, each member of my party got a different pasta dish: I got the chicken cacciatore, my mother got the ragu, and my boyfriend had the sausage gnocchi. All dishes were wonderful, traditional, and delicious. Pasta was phenomenally cooked and the flavors were great. Out of the three, the gnocchi was probably my favorite. We ended the dinner with three different desserts we all split. All three (tiramisu, lemon tart, and affogato) were delicious. My only note for dessert was the crust on the lemon tart was too much, other than that it was delicious. I will be coming back here when looking for good, traditional, Italian food.

During my visit to L'Orcio, I was expecting modern Italian cuisine, but was met with typical traditional Italian dishes. The presentation of the main course seemed somewhat uninspired, lacking creativity, but where it lacked in visual appeal, it excelled in taste. The self-made pasta was exceptional, complemented by excellent choices of cheese, fresh herbs, and garden-crisp vegetables, all with a concentrated focus on flavoring. Portions were just right, neither overpowering nor too big. The beautiful backyard oasis, with its urban Mediterranean setting, complete with charming planting and a pergola, added to the ambiance. Unfortunately, my enjoyment was marred by mosquitoes enjoying their human feast, leaving distracting marks on me. Next time, I'll remember to wear long pants and apply bug spray beforehand, but the culinary experience was satisfying nonetheless.

Haven't been to L'Orcio in many years. We sat outside and although it was beautiful with the pergola and lights, It was definitely not the time of year for blossoming wisteria and a few people in our party sustained a few bug bites. The server we had was phenomenal-not overbearing, but friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. The food was delicious starting with the olives the Omnivoro, and salads. Moving onto entrees, we enjoyed the salmon ricotta gnochhi special, the branzino special, the pollo al limone, the veal, and the seafood special similar to a fra diavolo. Overall, between the food, location, and service, it was a wonderful experience.

Wife and I went for our anniversary reserved a table for 4 on Sunday the 14th of August. There were 2 tables in the whole place occupied. Now with that said right off the bat, service HORRIBLE, ordered oysters she brought out the wrong amount, the oysters were in ice that wasn't Shaved so when the ice melted which it did the oysters got waterlogged (not good if you know anything about oysters)No bussing between courses had to go inside and asked if we could get the dirty dishes removed and order more drinks ordered lamb chops got rack of lamb and when I complained upon leaving the hostess KNEW of the problem and was like oh he hasn't fixed it yet? W O W !!!!!! For the amount of money charged service way past poor. Food eh. And customer awareness nonexistent as I made a notation that we were celebrating our anniversary upon making the reservation. And how lazy is the server (don't know her name it was never given) to offer tap water not pelligrino or any of that sort. Hers a hint if your sitting at a table with dirty dishes for more than five minutes and the place is dead and not ruby Tuesday's and the average entrée is 25 and up that place is no longer fine dining. Also if you're server is too lazy to upsell drinks desserts water etc just leave trust me. I didn't however because my wife looked at me and said " I know Hon we just won't come back this place really fell off" I could go on but what's the point never coming back why because of so many other great places on that street alone let alone the city. If you choose to go here Good luck to you my friends you are going...

First time dining here, it was on my list. Parking is terrible but it’s New Haven & to be expected. No points deducted. Very friendly staff. Inside is a quiet elegant feel. Outside is a little more vibrant. We chose to sit outside and the patio is very nice. They should rearrange the tables a little bit better & the chairs are not comfortable. we ordered the burrata for an app. It was very very small piece of burrata & 2 thin slices of tomato. Delicious but tiny. The dipping oils were good but the focaccia bread was a big dissatisfaction. It’s thin, hard as a rock, over cooked in too much oil with no flavor. I’m a bread girl & I was very sad at the bread. I ordered the house made ricotta gnocchi in the vodka sauce, and the New York key was exceptionally good. The vodka sauce was mediocre. Not much flavor. With the gnocchi having such a mild flavor to begin with, you need that sauce to really stand out and it did not. My suggestions would be to redo your focaccia recipe. It should have a light crust with a thick pillowy inside light and airy. It should be seasoned with at least some seesaw and garlic or maybe a little rosemary. And the vodka sauce lacked any onions garlic etc. Price point is fair for the quantity. Overall cute little place and...

To preface, this restaurants food is fantastic and I would typically give this place a five star review.

When I arrived at the table, I was asked if we wanted any beverages to which I responded, "Water is fine". I was asked if I wanted sparking water or still water, and I answered that I wanted still water. We got a bottle of water and dinner went on like usual and the food was fantastic! However, when we received the bill, we were charged 7$ for the bottle of water. I think it's very reasonable to assume that "still water" would mean free, non-sparkling water since there were zero indications that it would be any type of premium water that would be charged. We were never given or informed that the water given to us would be charged, and we would've asked for free tap water if we were informed we were getting the latter.

We will be coming back because the food is genuinely really good, However, I would really appreciate it if we were informed that the bottled water was going to be an extra charge, rather than blindsiding us with a extra charge.

TLDR: Ask for the "free water" so you don't get charged for...
