Positive: We had the "half-bacon" burger on a pretzel roll which was really good! They pre-cook the bacon & mix it in with the raw hamburger, which means you can order it rare if you like. The fries were pretty good too even though they aren't freshly cut. I asked our waitress what kind of ketchup was in the bottles, she said it's just the regular Heinz. I mentioned that I don't do well with high fructose corn syrup, so she told me about one they make in-house that's like a ketchup barbecue sauce.. not my thing but it wasn't bad. They cooked the burgers rare as we ordered & both of our plates were sent back empty! They do charge extra for the pretzel roll, but it's reasonable.. definitely not high as to rip someone off like many places do. While we didn't have any alcoholic beverages, we did notice their big screen they have up with different beverages with descriptions including locations which made us curious to go back for another visit. We didn't order any appetizers, but looking To their menu they do have a good selection, including appetizers that are very reasonably priced! Will be nice to do back & get a few of those & try one of their specialty beverages.
Negative: It's on a narrow side street which isn't really bad, but you'd easily pass by it if you weren't making sure of where you're going. The sign is flat against the top of the building, not sticking out towards the street so if you're looking up you'd notice it.. even our waitress said she passes by it when she's coming in for use shift! They don't offer Coke or Pepsi, but rather a local cola which in my husband's opinion was a little under carbonated.. to each their own. Our waitress while nice & was understanding about my good allergy, she never checked to see if we needed refills. They also do charge extra for the house made ketchup & mayo.. (not sure if that's a positive...
Read moreI used to visit this place regularly because I loved their blueberry toastie. Unfortunately, my recent experience was incredibly disappointing. The food was nowhere near as good as it used to be — it was almost inedible. The bread was soggy and tough, and the cheese and blueberries were so runny that the sandwich was basically filled with butter, leaving the bread empty. Even the cheese had hardened and wasn’t fresh anymore.
I called someone over to address the issue, and a man came to listen to my concerns and offered to remake the sandwich. However, a woman then approached and, instead of offering a solution, asked me in a condescending manner what the problem was. She insisted that the sandwich was perfectly fine and well-made, implying that the issue was with my taste rather than the food itself. While the man apologized and said he would remake it, this woman kept coming back to argue, explaining the sandwich-making process and repeating that there was nothing wrong with it.
It felt as though my complaint was completely ignored, and she blamed my taste instead of accepting that the sandwich was indeed off. She never even offered a simple apology. While my tastes may have changed, my wife also noticed the difference, and we both agreed that the sandwich was not as tasty as it used to be. The only thing we enjoyed were the sweet potato fries. Her rude and dismissive attitude, along with her arrogance, completely ruined my experience. I really hope no one else has to encounter such poor service. I hope this restaurant not only provides great food but also delivers mature and thoughtful service...
Read moreWe walked in with a large group. If they couldn't accommodate us the could have turned us away or made us wait longer. They did neither. They sat our group of 13 at a table for 8 and gave us 2 chairs for the ends. 8+2=10 not 13. We squished 6 onto the booth side comfortably now we are at 12 called the manager over and said we need another chair or table. He rudely said that's all we have and walked away. So because a majority of the group wanted this places food we squished a 7th into the booth side at this point he was basically sitting with the table next to us. Who were good sports about having some stranger to snuggle with. And the fantastic service didn't end there. It took the waitress 15 minutes to take our drink order, another 15 to bring it and take our food order. Most of us parked on the street and its a 2hours max on the meter. Some of our group was starting to worry as now an 1:10in we still haven't gotten our meals, about 20 min latter the food started coming out 3 dishes at a time. We spent over 2hours here and the food was not that great. They also gave us drama about the check, stating they could only take 4 credit cards. Now i was a waitress in the past and i know this to be BS the only reason they say this is so the average $ per ticked is higher. They brought us one check and everything was just a jumbeld mess that after 4 attempts of trying to figure out how to split it the guest of honor (birthday girl) put the entire thing on her card out of sheer desperation to get out of her tuna-can amount of space and leave. Heed my words if you are thinking of taking a group...
