I originally confused Shack Shack with another fast food place, which left me crawling home with a low-grade illness. But after seeing Shake Shack's everywhere fancy things are sold I decided to try it again. It's a budget tier above most fast food (for example, the Taco Bell Cantina just down the street) but the food is quite good for what it's trying to be. This is the way to eat fast food in one's 30's, where portions are smaller, the extra grease is poured off the food before plating, and the quality of ingredients is higher. First, the shakes are especially good. If you're a salted caramel fan, this is one of the most saline shakes I've ever had, and that's a good thing. The burgers are also quite good, packing intense nuggets of flavor into the toppings (ex. fried shallot chips) or into the delicate browning of the meat which gives it a crispy, semi-burnt texture and rich flavor. Even the side items are tasty. We tried the (and I hate to say this out loud) Shack-Cago dog, and while it's a dollar or two more than what it should be from a proper dog joint in the Windy City, the ingredients taste fresh, the relish is unnaturally green, and the bun has poppy seeds. The Shackmeister Ale is a good pairing with the food, but probably not worth drinking on its own, and the wine is good too, though will inflate your total bill pretty quickly. And this location has a few entertainment odds and ends. Like so many other places in New England, there's a well sanded shuffleboard, plus a foosball table. No doubt patrons take pucks and balls home on a regular basis, but they always seem to have the parts to play. And there's a fireplace for those brutal winter days when you're trudging in from the bitter cold to get a moderate portion of great tasting food.

With no line, I asked the person at the register if they could turn on the UConn basketball tournament game as many customers were asking. ESPN not top ten reruns and a replay of the previous nights knicks game were rolling on repeat. The person at the counter was kind and stated that she just needed to grab the manager to change it and that it wasnt an issue. After four plus minutes she sheepishly came back and said the manager wanted her to tell me that he/she wasnt going to be able to change the TVs that night. At the very least the manager should have come forward and explained whatever was preventing them from making the change voiced universally by the customers. Food for one adult and a three year old is also going on twenty two minutes plus with an empty restaurant (because most left before ordering upon hearing the game would not be on). I am disappointed by the leadership exhibited by the manager and impressed with the person working the register in how they handled this… Id suggest a role reversal. Save your time and money for a place managed by someone who cares. 6:26-6:48 (plus)on Friday March 10, 2023

My family and I visited this restaurant for dinner, and while there were some positives, there were also some disappointments. Ordering at the kiosk was straightforward, but it was confusing not knowing that ordering at the register was an option. The staff seemed fine, although there was a minor mix-up with my order, which was initially prepared for dining in instead of to go. The restaurant itself was clean, and I appreciated the ambiance, especially with the fuzzball table, couch, and fireplace. However, the food left something to be desired. The burgers were dry, overcooked, and overly salty, although the fries were enjoyable. I particularly liked their cheese sauce, which was one of the best fast-food cheese sauces I've had. Unfortunately, my friend's daughter found the chicken nuggets to be just okay, though she also enjoyed the fries. Overall, while the atmosphere was nice and some aspects of the food were good, the disappointments with the burgers and minor order mix-up make me uncertain about returning to this location.

I cannot say enough great things about my recent visit to Shake Shack, and it is all thanks to Heather! From the moment we walked in, she radiated warmth, positivity, and an energy that made the entire experience exceptional. In a fast-paced environment like Shake Shack, where employees are constantly juggling multiple orders and handling a steady stream of customers, Heather stood out as someone who truly takes pride in what she does.

From the very beginning, Heather greeted us with a genuine smile and an incredibly friendly attitude. It wasn’t the kind of generic customer service you sometimes get where you can tell someone is just going through the motions—this was real, authentic, and made us feel valued as customers. She was patient, attentive, and made sure we felt comfortable asking any questions about the menu. She even took the time to make recommendations based on what we were in the mood for, which was a nice touch that made us feel like she cared about our experience.

When it came time to place our order, Heather ensured that everything was entered correctly and double-checked our preferences. Customizations? No problem. Special requests? Done with ease. And throughout the process, she maintained that same upbeat and positive attitude, which is honestly rare to find in fast food service these days.

Not only was Heather thorough and efficient, but she also made sure that our food came out exactly as we wanted. Every burger, every side, and every shake was made to perfection. It’s clear that she holds herself to a high standard, and her attention to detail did not go unnoticed. Our order was prepared quickly, yet everything was fresh, hot, and delicious. No mistakes, no missing items—just perfection!

But the best part? Heather didn’t just drop off the food and move on. She took a moment to check on us, making sure we had everything we needed and offering extra napkins and condiments before we even had to ask. That level of service is so rare in a fast-casual setting, and it left a lasting impression. It wasn’t just about getting us in and out—it was about ensuring we had the best experience possible.

Heather turned what could have been just another fast-food visit into something truly special. It’s employees like her that make a business shine, and I truly hope Shake Shack recognizes what a gem they have in her. If you ever visit this location, do yourself a favor and hope you get to interact with Heather—she will make your day!

Thank you, Heather, for your outstanding service, your kindness, and for making our visit unforgettable. You turned a simple meal into an experience we will be talking about for a long time. Five stars...

If you love Chicken Sandwiches... STAY AWAY.

Some friends who had been going to SS (New Haven) in the past were raving about the Chicken Sandwiches and how they were in a class of their own — so we went. What a mistake.

Place the order to include "spicy" fries and decline to add a tip because SS (we came to see) is basically a self-service, low-level food joint that makes Burger King, KFC and McD look like gourmet experiences by comparison.

Food arrives; three identical Chicken Sandwiches that are essentially, EIGHT DOLLAR, credit card sized, mahogany-colored "chicken" arrives in a bun with sauce oozing out the side... I guess this is going to be great despite looking like it had been deep frying in oil for about three days. Let's bite in, maybe there is a secret about to unfold...

Hard like a rectangular hockey puck and stringy chicken that can get caught in your teeth, not to mention some "flange" of severely over-cooked chicken something that could almost cut your gums. Someone, somewhere thought that it would be appropriate to charge $8 for this, really?

Tiny pieces of rubberized, greasy chicken jammed into a forgettable piece of bread with absolutely nothing else of interest along for the ride.

Spicy fries? Let's pay additional for something interesting—NOT! Typical crinkle cut, no flavor, greasy, and the "spicy" was a so—uninteresting blend of whatever red powder tossed over the top... They could not be more boring — if you even tried. This recipe was definitely not crafted by anyone who knew how to cook or even cared about making something of interest.

To think that a sandwich this BAD, this poorly delivered, has a price tag of about $8 dollars, that's EIGHT WHOLE DOLLARS, verges on criminal activity. If you want to feel completely taken advantage of then SHAKE SHACK is the place for you... I know that SS opened originally to some fanfare for quality but that must be in a universe...

Shake Shack is more than just a fast-food chain—it's a culinary experience that brings together delicious flavors and a fun, lively atmosphere. Known for its juicy burgers, perfectly seasoned fries, and creamy milkshakes, this burger joint has quickly become a favorite for many.

The Burgers: Shake Shack’s ShackBurger is a crowd-pleaser. The freshly grilled, perfectly seasoned beef patty is always juicy and tender, topped with crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and a special ShackSauce that adds just the right amount of tang. The potato buns are soft yet sturdy, making every bite a delight.

The Fries: Another standout is the crinkle-cut fries. They’re perfectly crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside, and come with a delicious, optional cheese sauce for an extra indulgent treat.

The Milkshakes: Don’t skip the milkshakes—they’re thick, creamy, and come in a variety of flavors, from classic vanilla and chocolate to the more inventive ones like peanut butter or cookies and cream. They’re the perfect way to cool down while enjoying your meal.

The Ambiance: With its modern yet casual setting, Shake Shack creates a warm, inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for a quick meal or even for hanging out with friends. Whether you’re sitting at one of their outdoor tables or inside, the vibe is always upbeat and comfortable.

Sustainability and Quality: What sets Shake Shack apart is its commitment to using high-quality ingredients. Their beef is hormone and antibiotic-free, and they also prioritize sustainability with eco-friendly packaging and sourcing practices.

Overall: Shake Shack is a fantastic choice if you're craving a great burger with fresh ingredients. It’s the perfect spot for a quick meal or even for a laid-back hangout. With great food, a fun atmosphere, and a focus on quality, Shake Shack delivers...
