Jolly Roger's Pizzeria — Restaurant in New London

If I could give this place a ZERO I would. They get 1 star for the pizza but customer service was the worst!! First of all I was in New London for a girls softball tournament. Us coaches said we were getting pizza's for the team and instead of going to a chain decided to try local. I called and asked for 4 16" pizzas with 1 topping each. I was given a total of $48. Hung up the phone... told the other coaches and they questioned the price. 4 pizzas should be more we thought. So I called back just to double check that she had me down for 4 16" pizzas. Same girl answered and said yes, you have 4 16" pizzas. I said okay, just wanted to double check on that and the price. She said yes, we have a special tonight when you buy 2 16" you get 2 more discounted. I said wonderful thank you. We will watch for your delivery driver at the lobby. My phone rings 50 minutes later and its them calling me to tell me that i was told the wrong price for my order. The price i was told is for dine in only. I proceeded to inform them that i had already called and double checked on this price already after i called the first time. Then the owner gets on the phone and still proceeds to tell me yhe same thing. My new price is now $75 instead of $48!! She says that she has a new girl tonight answering the phone and wasn't aware of the dine in only special. Guess what.. not my fault! That's your responsibility and your training, especially when i called back to double check. And why did you wait 50 minutes to call me?! No, I'm not paying you $75.. she then says let's meet in the middle and you can have your 4 pizzas for $60. I said only if you deliver them. So this owner who insisted to argue with me and not take blame or responsibility i said fine, $60! Driver shows up about 5 minutes later and as he proceeded to give me my 4 pizzas he saya its $60, so i said here is $60 and you can go talk to your owner and find out why you have no tip. He looka at my and says you are already getting a discount why dont you go f*ck off and threw the pizzas at me. That was totally uncalled for and i hope he was fired and the poor new girl goes somewhere else to get a new job. Doesn't need to work for or with...

I really wanted to like this place. Let's start with the good....

Okay that's enough good - now on to the bad. The waitstaff seems to be entirely high school girls. Seriously, if you can't find decent waitstaff, switch to counter order and pickup. The night we visited (1/21/23) wasn't really all that busy. We ordered and waiting 35 (Thirty Five) minutes for a basket of fries. Really? For mediocre fries? C'mon. Our pizzas came about 20 minutes later. My friend ordered extra cheese and sauce, which wasn't received. I ordered extra jalapenos and received maybe half what I would have expected for a normal portion. About half of the pizza had some jalapenos on it. My pizza was severely undercooked, and was even acknowledged by the manager. Everything except the edges was uncooked dough, similar to the texture of play doh. The other friend with us at the table ordered extra cheese, which HE received. But, nonetheless, his pizza was undercooked in the middle as well. I can't believe we wasted almost two hours in total PLUS driving all the way out to New London to try this extremely mediocre "pizzaria". I wanted to enjoy it, but I left with an empty stomach and went to Kwik Trip to find something to eat. At least they make sure their food is cooked before putting it out. One star is too good of a rating for this place. I have ordered delivery in the past with no problems. The last two times I ordered delivery I was told they wouldnt deliver because or covid which I could understand with staff being low. The last time I got a different excuse of they have reduced their delivery area permanently, however they have not changed their website proclamation of delivery to all new london addresses. My order was well over $150 and I was prepared to give the driver a pretty substantial tip even though they boast free delivery. Their website says that they deliver to all New London addresses. Apparently my New London address is excluded from that statement. The staff is not very friendly and when I asked to speak with a manager I was told he was too busy. False website advertising, rude staff and a manager that doesnt want to take care of issues is the reason the my family and most of my neighbors want nothing to do with establishment from here on out.
