King’s Pasquale — Restaurant in New Market

I will start by saying that this was our first experience with this place.

The food was great all around, but we had huge issues with delivery.

We ordered through the slice app at 7pm on a Friday. Arguably the busiest day and time to order.

Before placing the order, the app said it would be about an hour. After it was placed, it estimated about the same. Soon after, it updated to 830. Not ideal, but delays happen and it is Friday night afterall.

At 815, the app updated saying it was out for delivery and the eta was still around 830.

Around 845, I contacted the slice app asking what was going on. I was told the driver "just left" and the food would be there soon.

After contacting again after 9, I was told the same thing. I tried to cancel, but was not allowed. We were granted 5 dollars of the order, but we were past that at that point.

Food finally came around 925. Almost 2 and a half hours after ordering and an hour after the "expected" delivery.

The food was hot, so I'm guessing it didn't leave the store until closer to 9pm meaning they were lying in the app about their wait times and such.

I believe in second chances (especially since the food was good), but that was alot.

This is the third time we've had issues with takeout from Pasquale's. The pizza and appetizers are always fine , it's the submarines. No matter how many times we order a sub "without" or "with only", they always manage to put mushrooms,peppers, grilled onions and olives on almost every sandwich. Tonight I ordered online, a veggie sub. I checked off only lettuce,tomatoes, raw onions, extra cheese and salt and pepper. Note online it says the sub is cold. My husband brought it home and it was hot. Also it had so much junk on it I couldn't tell the difference between his steak and cheese and my veggie sub. I found out it was because there were tons of mushrooms on my sub, which I didn't order, also there were peppers, black olives,grilled onions, and a few pieces of steak! It took me about 20 minutes to pick off all the extra toppings that I did not order on my sub . I ordered extra cheese, but by the time I picked every thing off ,I had no cheese. Great Italian restaurant with lower priced items. Great for takeout or dine-in. Their subs, pasta, salads, and of course pizza, are all great. The are easy to get to right off of I-70 and at the corner of 75 and 144. I get the grilled chicken salad or a slice of pizza all of the time. They can make any non-white pizza as a slice, which is great to one or two people. Each slice is 1/6 of their large, so you definitely get your money’s worth. Their subs are big, especially their large. If you are not a big eater, spend the extra $1.25 (about) and you have enough for two meals. The couple that owns the place is very nice and at least one of them is usually there. Their staff is great, too, especially in the kitchen.
