I have found my new fav neighborhood coffee shop. Applied Arts Coffee (conveniently located at the end of my walk on the Mississippi River) popped up a few weeks ago after having roasted coffee in the 'hood for several years. I had no idea that a new coffee shop was brewing (pun intended). I grabbed an iced latte (better than I have had anywhere in the city) and admired the welcoming decor (think Mediterranean with a Moroccan vibe). Open, airy, not loud, and cute outdoor area with tables and umbrellas.
The menu had standard drinks. There were some pastries. There was also more adventurous (but not whacky) savory offerings I may try.
Open 7am - 2pm daily, this new addition to the Bywater feels like home. Can't wait to go back.
