Applied Arts Coffee Cafe — Restaurant in New Orleans

I have found my new fav neighborhood coffee shop. Applied Arts Coffee (conveniently located at the end of my walk on the Mississippi River) popped up a few weeks ago after having roasted coffee in the 'hood for several years. I had no idea that a new coffee shop was brewing (pun intended). I grabbed an iced latte (better than I have had anywhere in the city) and admired the welcoming decor (think Mediterranean with a Moroccan vibe). Open, airy, not loud, and cute outdoor area with tables and umbrellas.

The menu had standard drinks. There were some pastries. There was also more adventurous (but not whacky) savory offerings I may try.

Open 7am - 2pm daily, this new addition to the Bywater feels like home. Can't wait to go back.

Authentic coffee house serving a range of specialty varieties responsibility sourced from across the globe. House roasted beans, you can order specialty espresso drinks, drip and (finally!) a half dozen pour over selections. Chef driven drinks are paired with a Norwegian inspired hand crafted food menu featuring in-house baked goods. The owner operators are passionate about their craft, always willing to share backstory and participate in local farmer’s markets.

Stepping inside I was reminded of the cafes in Uluwatu, Bali with its sleek style, cushions throughout and coffee books paired with live plants. Umbrella tables greet you on the way inside, and there’s ample...

They made me a latte that reminded me of chai and it was so good. So many times I’ve gotten lattes that just taste burnt but not here. The coffee cake was perfect too, not overly sweet.
