It was my first time at Bywater Brew Pub. I was there to attend a friend's birthday party.

I had no expectations. I walked in to a beautiful facility... and I was greeted by a friendly hostess. Because we're in a period of COVID-19 restrictions, she checked each person's proof of vaccination.

The bar/dining areas are clean and comfortable... warm, finished wood from walls to antique bar... and stylish art on all the walls.

Each of the staff members that I met were friendly and helpful... frequently checking on us to find out if there was anything we needed.

The food... beautiful and delicious. Early on, several service staff members walked around, serving interesting and delicious hors d'oeuvres. Then came the main courses... set up buffet style. Each item was, again, beautiful and delicious.

Ohhhhhh, yeah...... it's a BREW Pub! There were EIGHT of their beers on tap! That alone would be worth the trip.

I live about 45-minutes away... and I plan on visiting again... because I was impressed with the look, the 'feel', the 'product' and the service.

Well done, Bywater...

Mixed first experience. Came in starving after helping my friend move and get settled in their new place. Ordered drinks and tried to order food even though the cook hadn't shown up yet(late). The grapefruit IPA is the best beer I've had in a long time. Good flavor without being sweet or overly hoppy. Absolutely inhaled the crawfish nachos which tasted as good as they sound. Not a whole lot of cheese, but the concentrated crawfish gumbo stock sauce was a big hit with the fried wantons, hence no pics. But as I had to get back to MS the rest of our meal we got Togo. The fries were delicious, fresh and hot. I didn't get a chance to eat my sausage dog until much later and the bun had become a little hard. It was still good with the pickled onions and beer cheese. But after we paid and left, we discovered we had been charged twice on separate cards. I would come back for the IPA and pay...

Stumbled upon this place after listening to the Rory Danger and the Danger Dangers band. The host Jojo was super friendly and very accommodating to our party who failed to make reservations. We were seated quickly outside in full view of the game. Our waitress Carrie was wonderful and provided quick and friendly service. The food came out lightening fast too which I loved. We ordered the nachos, cracklins, chicken sandwiches, banh mi burger and one phorrito. Everything was perfect. That chicken sandwich could compete with Popeye's. I ordered a second round of the cracklins. The phorrito is a MUST. Even the owner came by and said hello and answered all of our nosy questions about the place. I wish I would have caught his name, but when I go back I will. And yes, I'm definitely going back!!!! Oh, the spring rolls...

Intrigued by the Viet-cajun angle and expectations were exceeded. Some really good happy hour food options. The crawfish pies must be limited because we got the last order and, honestly, I literally said at the table "This might be the best crawfish pie I've ever had." The beer is very good, better than at least a few of the newer breweries in town. The "Flight and Bite" happy hour special is pictured below. The spiced pecans went very nicely with the chocolate stout. As did the beer beignets with coffee & cream sauce. Excited these guys are in my neighborhood. Also, major callout for the gender inclusive bathrooms. A first that I've seen in New Orleans (or really anywhere in the US). I absolutely applaud the gesture. I'll be back.
