Atmosphere: Nice new building with lots of natural light but the layout makes it awkward for the few seated tables because the long line goes between them with little space. Bathrooms were clean and modern. Not sure why they tacked on tacky plastic flowers on the molding?
Food: 11:30 AM on a Sunday morning and youâre out of so many ingredients that you canât make 2 of the only 4 sandwiches you offer? Sandwich was good, and toasted well. Not worth $16. 4/5.
Pastries: ordered one apricot pastry and one apple cinnamon. Apricot one was good, 4/5, and apple one was great, 4/5.
Coffee: $5 base iced latte. They up-charge you ridiculously for everything without giving you a heads up. Asked for caramel sauce or syrup and I said both, and they added $2 on, without giving a heads up that theyâre $1 extra each. Not great coffee either. Basic automated machine taste, and they bring nothing to your table, so if you sit outside, you have to run back in every 10 min to check to see if itâs ready. 2/5
Service: superrrr unfriendly staff, seem annoyed throughout the entire order, not a smile in sight. Donât look for southern hospitality here đThe male serving pastries and taking sandwich orders was super impatient with the guests in front of us as well, who asked very simple questions so they could make a decision. Paper plates and plastic cups, so youâre forced to bus your own table too. 1/5
Value overall: 2/5 overpriced coffee and sandwiches for the area, taste, and service. Would not return, especially after the bad taste in my mouth from the rude employee attitude. $45 for one sandwich, two coffee, and two pastries....
Read moreI literally just left this bakery, 1/30/25. My experience was horrible. As I am in line waiting to place my order, a white foreign man decides to slide in and break me in line. I had been waiting patiently for at least 10 mins. So clearly, I am confused by his decision to break in front of me. I continue to wait until we both got to the register to order. While he was rushing to get his order out before me, I politely told the lady at the register that this man jumped me in line. Of course she apologize but continues to serve him before me. Wrong decision!!!! No one made an effort to make this right. The man was so rude. It was obvious that he knew he was doing the wrong thing. He constantly lied and stated he was already in line. The lady should have told him to step to the side and place my order. How is it okay to serve him before me? I have been to this bakery several times before. While the service has never been excellent, I now know where this company stands. I WILL NOT be returning!!! This incidence was absolutely unfortunate. I wish the customer service was better. Hopefully, their workers get more training on fairness and kindness. This company's workers lack empathy. Its not worth your time to go here. You will be...

Celtica is the reincarnation of the original Boulangerie owner. And thank goodness! Though the Magazine Street Boulangerie retains it's atmosphere, it does not have the skilled, delicious Frenchman who created that bakery and its offerings. And more's the loss! After the Magazine Street bakery reopened in 2020, they no longer featured Almond/chocolate croissants. They had almond, they had chocolate. But I wanted the pairing! Little did I know Celtica, across town by the Lakefront, was just opening its doors in November! The ephemeral almond chocolate croissants were there AGAIN. However, if you want one, you need to appear when the bakery opens and be prepared to wait for one of the few that will be produced that day. Celtica is much smaller than Boulangerie: a smaller kitchen and output. If you aren't there when it's put out and they run out, you'll have to appear the next day. That's the way the croissant crumbles! So put aside an hour or so: travel time and waiting time to get your, excuse me, MY favorite treat. You'll be lining up...
